On Days of our Lives, EJ was willing to hold Rafe prisoner, let Arnold run around town pretending to be him, and gaslight everyone who thought something odd was going on. But he wasn’t about to let Arnold marry an unsuspecting Jada—and have sex with her. EJ draws the line at rape after Arnold did that to Sami years back (only EJ is allowed that privilege with Sami). So, EJ came up with an ingenious solution: he gave Arnold fake documents proving that Jada was a dirty cop. That allowed Arnold to call off the wedding and, as an added bonus, cut a shadow over Jada, one of Mayor Price’s pet appointments. It’s a win-win for everyone! Well, mostly for EJ. Let’s be honest: The Salem Police Department is a horrible, inefficient, incompetent mess. The only way they ever solve a crime is if they literally trip over it. They let guilty people go if they like them, and they grab jurisdiction over crimes that happened in another city, another state, or even another country if they dislike the alleged culprit. If it weren’t for private eyes like John (the late Drake Hogysten – read about how his death affected his castmates) and Steve (Stephen Nichols), or civilians like Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Chad (Billy Flynn), no crime would ever get resolved.

Woman of the Hour
So is it that hard to believe that Jada (Elia Cantu) might have cut corners to make it look like her department was doing… something? Anything? Sure, we assumed that EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) was lying. Because EJ lies a lot. And because Jada kept proclaiming her innocence. But what if EJ’s documents are legit? He just never needed to use them before, because Jada didn’t get in his way before. Now she has. So it’s payback time. And the truth is finally out.
