Soap operas are all about the continuity of generations, and Days of our Lives knows that as well as anyone. At one point, Chief of Staff and patriarch Tom Horton was working at the same hospital as his great-great grandson, Scotty Banning. (Tom had a daughter named Addie, Addie had a daughter named Julie, Julie had a son named David, and David had a son named Scotty. They were all junior achievers.)
Days of our Lives: Generationally Speaking
Which means now is as good of a time as any to take a look at three hellraisers who’d be calling the shots in Salem, like within the next decade.
DAYS: All Hallows Eve
We’ve seen and heard about them individually, but DAYS’ Halloween episode was the first time all were on at the same time…and giving us an indication of who they’ll one day grow up to be — and we are excited about the possibilities.
Rachel Black may have been dressed as a princess, but the way she was bossing around her Queen Mommy Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and King Daddy Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) made it clear this was a holy terror in the making.
Not only does she expect these adults to do her bidding, she also felt perfectly entitled to order Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) out of her father’s life….complete with throwing food as if the world weren’t filled with children her age who could never dream of high tea, much less throwing it away during a hissy fit. Yeah, this is our future spoiled brat of a villainess.
Days of our Lives: Blood Will Tell
Holly is the daughter of longtime bad girl Nicole Walker Hernandez (Arianne Zucker). But, unlike her mother, who grew up with some truly horrible parents, Holly not only has a loving mother but a long line of caring stepfathers, including Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Nicole goes after whatever she wants with all guns blazing because she had so little when she was young. Holly has pretty much everything. So maybe we can hope she won’t be quite so desperately needy.
DOOL: Could Go Either Way
And there’s poor Ari. On the one hand, her DNA is even worse than Holly’s. She’s Gabi Hernandez’s (Camila Banus) daughter AND Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) granddaughter. But then there’s her dad, sweet, loving, kind of dumb Will Horton (Chandler Massey). And her good influence of a stepfather, Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker). Maybe Ari will have her good side and her bad side. You know, the same way she’s sometimes blonde…sometimes brunette.
