Kayla had some shocking news for Nicole Walker on Friday’s Days of our Lives: Nicole is pregnant! Will this be a miracle baby? First, Nicole didn’t think she’d get pregnant — she’s on the pill. Second, while Nicole was always capable of getting pregnant, she’s been diagnosed as incapable of staying pregnant.

These days, paternity tests can be done long before the baby is born. It’s a pretty trivial procedure. Unless you’re someone like Nicole, who is at extremely high risk for miscarriage. Any kind of invasive procedure could compromise the already tenuous pregnancy. And we know that Nicole would never, ever do anything that might keep her from finally giving birth to her own child.

DOOL: Hurry Up and Wait
This means we might be in for NINE MONTHS of, either, Nicole choosing to stay with EJ and Eric hovering around, making claims on “his” baby — or vice-versa. This means we’re in for nine months of both men insisting on coming to her doctor’s appointments, demanding printouts of the sonogram, watching what she eats, where she goes, and how much stress she’s under. Not to mention wanting a say in the naming process.

Will Nicole enjoy the non-stop attention? We suspect she might. But will the viewers? We all know the first paternity test is never the right one on soaps.
