A Critic’s Review Of Days of our Lives: Twisted Sisterhood, Rigged DNA & Control

The author’s opinions on DAYS are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: The Critic’s POV

I must confess to thrilling to Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) and Megan’s (Miranda Wilson) twisted sisterhood and getting quite the kick out of Stefan’s (Brandon Barash) and Gabi’s (Camila Banus) attempt to get the two firmly onside and recap the family’s…less just say peculiar way of doing things.

That said, it really doesn’t behoove “Stabi” to so casually dismiss the threat the women could pose to them. There’s being self-assured, and then there’s being just plain dumb.

Further DAYS Musings

* How I loved hearing Justin (Wally Kurth) speak for the audience when he questioned Maggie’s (Suzanne Rogers) suitability to run Titan, Brady (Eric Martsolf) encouraging Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) to cut his losses where the family company is concerned, and Alex forgoing the chance to reclaim his old job.

* What is it with the most unsuitable people becoming privy to pregnancy secrets — emphasis on the secret part? [As if Bonnie (Judi Evans) is gonna keep mum any better than Anna (Leann Hunley) did.]

What do you think? Post a comment!

* What odds do we want to lay down that sly Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) didn’t actually swab Eric’s (Greg Vaughan) cheek and the whole paternity test was rigged?

* While I can find the character of Nurse Whitley (Kim Coles) a hoot and a half, here’s hoping that this homage to the Kathy Bates/James Caan film Misery is a micro-story rather than a macro one. A little crazy goes a long way.

In the same vein, while I can appreciate the broaching of the topic of coercive control as it relates to Colin (Jasper Newman) and Talia’s (Aketra Sevillian) relationship, I hope it won’t be used to explain away/excuse the plethora of crimes that Talia committed.
