A Critic’s Review Of Days of our Lives: High Drama And Hijinks In Salem

The author’s opinions are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.

Days of our Lives Critic's Review for November 14 – November 18, 2022

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Personal Highlight

In spite of his predicament being all his fault, I can’t help but love pissy Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). What. A. Hoot! And did he really quote Clueless? Come on, as if!

If only Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) wasn’t succumbing to the poison being spouted by “Charlie” (Mike Manning) — a walking, talking avatar for the mental illness she suffers from — because she is so needed to explain the concept of Karma to her former lover.

Further DAYS Musings

* After watching Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) interact with one another — not to mention the metaphorical fireworks that shot off when Gwen and Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey) went at it — I couldn’t help but decry Days of our Lives’ decision not to put Xander on staff at The Spectator. Can you imagine the hijinks those three could get up to? Xander and Gwen on the hunt for a scoop, Sarah following close behind keeping an eye peeled for any untoward acts on Gwen’s part.

* Funniest Moment of the Week: Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) indignity explaining to Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) that he doesn’t shave his chest hair…he just doesn’t grow any.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Anna Fredericks DiMera (Leann Hunley) worrying over, “decent, wonderful, sexy,” Dr. Tripp (Lucas Adams) — he who treated her “carpal tunnel” — much to Tony DiMera’s (Thaao Penghlis) chagrin runs a close second.

* Okay, if it was never about a payoff, and only about payback, why exactly did Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) try and blackmail Paulina Price Carver (Jackée Harry) for an ungodly sum of money? Why not just release the information in the run-up to election night or plan from the beginning to have Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) booked and questioned?

* Wait, did Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), the Brady Black, dumber than a box of rocks Brady Black actually make a solid point about non-couples co-parenting? Wonders never will cease.
