In a surprise move, Days of Our Lives (DOOL) has decided to bring back Kyle Lowder, who originated the role of Brady as an adult. But who will he play?
According to published reports, the actor will not be reprising the role that made him famous. Instead, he will be playing an entirely different character.
Lowder first joined DAYS back in 2000, playing Brady Black until 2008. During that time, Brady had an incredible love story with Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin). Could he be brought on to interrupt the budding reunion between Chloe and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo)? That could be fun.
After leaving DAYS, the actor went on to play Rick Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful until 2011. More recently, he has been starring and producing the Ken Corday project, Ladies of the Lake, which also stars his ex-wife, Arianne Zucker (ex-Nicole).
The two met and fell in love while on DAYS. They were married from 2002-2014 and also have a daughter, Isabella, who was born in 2009.
This isn’t the first time the show has brought an actor back in a new role. Judi Evans had a wildly successful run as Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis on the show and was later brought back as Bonnie Lockhart.
Interestingly enough, she may be returning to that role shortly now that Bonnie’s daughter, Mimi, will be returning when Farah Fath reprises the role.
The difference here, of course, is that there wasn’t another actress playing Adrienne at the time. With Lowder’s return to the show, his character may end up encountering Brady, now played by Eric Martsolf.
General Hospital went through that both times they’ve brought back one of the past Carlys while Laura Wright remained in the role. Both Sarah Brown (ex-Claudia) and now Tamara Braun (Kim; ex-Ava, DAYS) created new and exciting characters after playing Carly.
Will lightning strike twice for Lowder in Salem? Guess you’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
