Days of Our Lives (DOOL) has put out a casting call for a new baby, but the details seem to point in a different direction than you may think!

According to the Jason37 DAYS website, the show is currently looking for a newborn baby to tape this week.

The casting call is for a single newborn baby or twins. But the interesting part was that they needed to be Caucasian — fair skinned and with light hair.

That makes us think this is NOT Lani’s baby. Not only does the casting call not seem like a baby for an African-American couple, by the time the baby airs in November, Lani would be 11 months pregnant–which is an unusual length pregnancy even by soap standards.

Of course, the wheels in our heads are turning and we first thought the baby could belong to Sami (Alison Sweeney), who slept with Rafe (Galen Gering) near the end of last year.

But that would mean Sam was also pregnant for almost a year — so this baby probably isn’t for her.

This leaves a few options as three women have been sexually active recently. Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) has been sleeping with Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Eve (Kassie DePavia) has been sleeping with Brady (Eric Martsolf). If he was looking to reunite with Theresa (Jen Lilley), a pregnancy for Eve could change things.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Of course, these would both be later in life pregnancies, but soaps have certainly done them before.

However, Soap Hub is banking on the third option — Abigail (Marci Miller), who recently had sex with both her husband Chad (Billy Flynn) and his half-brother, Stefan (Tyler Christopher).

While DAYS fans have probably had enough of “who’s the daddy” stories of late with Lani, this could be the case here. It certainly would be dramatic. The two possible fathers would share a lot of the same DNA, which might make determining the father before birth a bit harder.

No matter how you slice it, the population in Salem is going to be growing soon and we can’t wait!

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
