Fans may be a little shocked by sweet Gabi’s recent behavior on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), but Camila Banus is determined to stick up for her put-upon character.

After all, she plays her day in and day out and knows that Gabi is a good girl who has been through extraordinary circumstances… and she hopes you know it, too.

She recently took to Instagram to defend her alter ego and her caption says it all.

“I know she hasn’t been a good girl lately but give her a chance, she’s been put through the ringer. #mala #karmasabitch #justsaying FEEL FREE TO LEAVE STORY RELATED COMMENTS, keep those opinions about us actors to yourself please  #dool #days #nbcdays #latina #represent #latinosondaytime #camilabanus”

She’s not kidding. Gabi has been through the wringer thanks to her “BFF” Abigail (Marci Miller) and her knight in tarnished armor, Stefan (Tyler Christopher). Not only that, Gabi’s best friend Chad (Billy Flynn) enabled his wife’s bad behavior and left Gabi to fend for herself.

And that’s when life changed for Gabi: She was falsely imprisoned where she ended up almost dying at the hands of another inmate. She was left with lasting scars and may not be able to have another child.

You can understand why that might leave a gal a little bitter, right? She just doesn’t want to roll over and take it anymore, so that’s why Gabi has gone on the offensive. She’s tired of seeing Abby skate through life without suffering any consequences for her actions… with only Gabi has suffering for them.

Who can blame her if she’s gone off the deep end a bit because of it? So how far will Gabi let her revenge last or will she never let Chad and Abby off the hook?

Banus herself has also been attacked on social media for playing what’s written on the page. So remember, guys, it’s just acting, and the performers are doing a job.

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
