We felt sorry for Brady when Theresa walked out on him, and we worried about him when he started to fall for Nicole while she was shedding Deimos on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
But right now we are struggling to understand his turn into a controlling and jealous man we don’t even recognize. The poor guy personifies the law of attraction – he had no reason to be jealous of Eric (Greg Vaughan), but his behavior has now made his worst fears come true.
It’s not like we thought Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) were made of win anyway. He was a very quick rebound for Nicole after Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) hurt her, and she was the first woman he cared for after losing Theresa (Jen Lilley).
It felt almost forced that either of them “loved” the other so quickly, and therefore it was hard to really invest in them. But Nicole truly gave him no reason to mistrust her – or at least she wouldn’t have if he didn’t start stalking her and listening in on her conversations.

In fact, he has been so smothering, so manipulative lately that it’s hard to understand why Nicole is putting up with this new Brady. He’s drinking again and even been taking relationship advice from Victor (John Kiriakis) of all people! His latest tactic of pressuring Eric to fire Nicole came from Victor!
And it’s this bonehead move that could end up backfiring on Brady the most. Chances are that when Nicole finds out (and you know she will) that he told Eric to fire her, it will be just the news that will send her permanently into Eric’s waiting arms.
The question then becomes is this just a temporary character shift to usher Nicole out of town when Arianne Zucker leaves at the end of the year – or is this the beginning of turning Brady from love’s biggest loser to a more proactive and sinister character? Time will tell.
