It’s always fun to go down memory lane and actors are no different when enjoying photos from the past. On-again/off-again Days of our Lives star Alison Sweeney is no different.
Alison Sweeney Dishes Her TV Weddings
The actress took to her Instagram page this week to thank the person behind the Twitter account Daysofour_lives for what she called a “fantastic #throwbackthursday.”
The Twitter user posted photos from a multitude of Sami’s weddings (or non-weddings!), looking at the memorable dresses, grooms, and festivities that happened during Sweeney’s over two decades with the show.
“I can’t believe that I can still remember every single wedding storyline,” Sweeney posted. “Or non-wedding as the case may be. 😬 it was so fun to find out Sami was scheming another wedding because Richard Bloore (the Days costume designer) and I would discuss what style we hadn’t yet tried and he would create the most magnificent gowns.”
The photos include her weddings to Austin Reed in France; Austin again back in Salem; Franco at the Kiriakis mansion (which ended with Sami on death row for allegedly shooting her groom pre-wedding); Austin for a third time—this time in Las Vegas; Brandon at City Hall; two times with Lucas (one that didn’t go through); Austin for a fourth time!; back to Lucas for wedding No. 9; Back-to-back weddings to E.J. DiMera; back-to-back with Rafe Hernandez; and finally once more with her love, E.J. DiMera.

All in all, Sami went to the alter 14 times, though only about half actually lasted to the “I do’s.” And three of the grooms actually were shot on her wedding day! All were very memorable though.
“It’s hard to pick a favorite,” Sweeney added, asking fans if they have a favorite wedding or dress involved.
Since leaving the show last year, Sweeney has filmed the TV movie franchise, Chronicle Mysteries: The Deep End and Time for You to Come Home for Christmas.
Meanwhile, fans have been enjoying each and every time Sweeney brings Sami back to Salem. And the next time she does, who will be “lucky No. 15?” Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
