Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Alison Sweeney recently appealed to fans for help in picking which four-legged sweetie deserves to win a Hero Dog Award.
“Where are the tissues?! These @AmericanHumane @HeroDogAwards stories are incredible. Help me choose which 4-legged hero should win & vote now,” and then she gave the link. If you want to vote and help her, click here.
American Humane is gearing up for the eighth annual Hero Dog Awards® gala in Beverly Hills, California. It will be held on September 29, 2018 at The Beverly Hilton, where they will be honoring the Hero Dog Awards winners and the 2018 American Hero Dog will be named.
“Seven lucky finalists and their human companions will be flown to Hollywood for a star-studded awards gala, which will be broadcast nationwide on Hallmark Channel next fall,” according to their website. “Of all the courageous canines, one dog will be awarded the grand prize American Hero Dog title.”
This isn’t Sweeney’s first collaboration with the Hallmark Channel. She has a working relationship with them, first with her Murder She Baked franchise and now her new project, The Chronicle Mysteries.
“In order to cultivate the next generation of hero dogs, American Humane will donate $2,500 to each of the seven finalist’s charity partners, and the American Hero Dog will win an additional $5,000 for their charity partner!” according to the website.
Sweeney appeared on the Hallmark Channel awards show the last couple of years. The actress has shown her love for animals in many ways. Recently, she teamed up with a major manufacturer of dog food to help dogs lose weight.
“Did you know, in the United States alone, approximately one out of every two pets is considered overweight?
That’s why I’ve teamed up with pet nutrition company Royal Canin to raise awareness about a major issue facing pet health today – pet obesity – and help spread the word on how to keep our pets happy and healthy!” Sweeney posted on Instagram.
