On Days Of Our Lives, the latest election threw the current mayor and police chief out of office. Hope (Kristian Alfonso) may no longer be allowed to cuff people professionally – that’s Eve’s (Kassie DePaiva) purview from now on.
But, she’ll be kept plenty busy with her dissolving marriage to Rafe (Galen Gering) and whatever it is that relationship with Ted (Gilles Marini) is supposed to be. Plus, the whole Ciara (Victoria Konefal) is dating an, albeit hot, serial killer. So, she’s good.
Abe (James Reynolds), on the other hand, without the mayor’s office to pontificate from, Theo (Kyler Pettis) in another country, and with both Valerie (Vanessa Williams) and Sheila (T-Boz) more or less dumping him, is left with nothing to do. Do fans want to see more o Abe even without an official position? What almost 17,000 fans are wishing for:
Always Abe
Absolutely, 86% of you have been saying this for years now. Abe is a good, upstanding, sexy man — not as sexy as the serial killer, but you know what we mean — and he deserves a love interest, as well as a front-burner story.
His wife has been dead for years, and Valerie clearly has other priorities. So let’s move on. And let’s see this moving on happen in real time, instead of off-camera. Abe is one of Salem’s vets, and he should be treated better!

Never Abe-Gain
On the other hand, for a minority 14%, less Abe is enough Abe. If he’s never been front-burner after how many decades now? — maybe it’s just not meant to be? The guy is a great supporting player — his Emmy nominations in that category prove it.
But, he’s not the leading man you want to see. Jack (Matthew Ashford) obviously isn’t long for the mayor’s office, which means a special election will swoop Abe back in sooner rather than later. You’ll get enough of him then.
