Days of Our Lives lost a fan favorite last spring when Ted met an untimely end after crossing paths with Andre and Kristen. Where has Ted’s portrayer, Gilles Marini, been since exiting Salem?

Soap Hub recently caught up with Marini at the RSVP Secret Room Events gifting lounge in honor of the Golden Globes to see what the actor has been up to! Read on for the scoop!

Gilles Marini: New Opportunities

What’s kept you busy since leaving days?
I’ve shot three movies. I just finished a Christmas movie called Christmas Al Dente. The story is really sweet. I had a great, great time. It was very festive working on the film. I’m playing, of course, an eccentric Italian chef. He meets this woman who is his complete opposite; she is played by Anni Krueger (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). She’s someone to watch. She’s fantastic. Her physicality is striking. Her talent is very special and has incredible comedic timing. I had a blast working with her.

So, we’re probably talking almost a year from now to see this Christmas movie, yes?
Yes, but you’ll know about Anni way before the movie comes out! I believe [the movie] will be on Lifetime.

What do you think? Post a comment!

What else are you up to?
I can’t wait to work with Hallmark. They’re very effective. They respect actors. I have not worked for them yet, but I have met with them. I want to do more hosting [and work on] shows that are close to my heart.

Are you in touch with Cheryl Burke, your pro partner from Dancing With the Stars?
Yes. and Peta [Murgatroyd, whom I was partnered with in the Dancing With the Stars All Stars season], too. The beauty of social media is that even if you don’t see people every day, you can still be in touch.

Dancing And Ted

What do you think of the judges having more of a say in which couple is saved on DWTS?
It’s smart. Nobody understands dance better than the judges. Steve Wozniak [co-founder, Apple, who appeared on Dancing With the Stars in the season I was on] is, of course, a brilliant mind. He said, ‘If I had [just] 2% of Apple [users] voting for me, I can stay on the show till the end.’ I know it’s a reality show, but there’s talent involved. It’s about the dancing. Having a judge choose who stays is a great idea.

Granted, your DAYS character Ted met his end, but lots of people in Salem come back from the dead! Would you want to come back?
Yes. I loved being on DAYS. I think coming back from the dead can be silly, but maybe Ted has a twin brother?
