Sure, there are only seven stories (so they say) that can be told in dramatic form. And “who’s the baby’s daddy?” is a tried and true one so it wasn’t a surprise that The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) went to that particular well… again.
This time it’s Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) who turned out to be pregnant after a romp with father-in-law Bill (Don Diamont). But is he or Steffy’s hubby Liam (Scott Clifton) the true dad?
If the story sounds familiar, well, it should. Not that long ago, Caroline had a drunken night of passion with Thomas after Ridge dumped her. Then, she became pregnant and — even though she got back together with Ridge — Thomas turned out to be the dad. Are you surprised that B&B’s doing another “who’s the father?” story so soon?
Pregnant Pause
Almost 84% of you aren’t surprised that B&B’s employing this conflict once again. There are probably a lot of longtime viewers in this group and B&B has done paternity stories since the show’s early years. There was speculation that Storm Logan was Eric and Beth’s son, but that never came to fruition.
The first big “who’s the daddy?” story was when Brooke became pregnant with Bridget. Convinced Ridge was the dad, she raced to stop his wedding to Taylor, but didn’t get there in time. Years later, it was revealed that Eric — not Ridge — was Bridget’s biological pop.
Next Generation
Don’t forget about Amber. She had not one but two paternity puzzlers. The first was between Raymond and Rick. Sadly, that baby, who was Rick’s, died shortly after birth. The next time, Amber thought Liam was the dad, but when the baby was African-American, it was clear that Marcus (Donna and Justin’s son) was the true father.

Other Options
The rest of you, a little over 16%, had hope that B&B would go down a different path and tell a different tale. While sticking with what works isn’t always a bad idea, there are many other types of stories the show could tell.
What if Steffy and Liam tried to adopt — only to find out that Bill’s wicked ways proved to be a blockade as far as adoption agencies were concerned? Bill’s already proven himself not to be the best dad in the world.
He asked Quinn to abort Wyatt, he’s blown up and decked Liam, and he cheated on Will’s mom with another woman. Let’s hope if Bill is the father, he does a better job this time!
