Traditionally, rice is thrown at the happy couple after a wedding. However, on The Bold and the Beautiful, it was cake that got tossed when Taylor and Brooke went at it!
On the outside, it appears that this is all about Liam (Scott Clifton) marrying Hope (Annika Noelle), the daughter of Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and not Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), the daughter of Taylor (Hunter Tylo).
However, the long-running animosity between the two women over Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) may be at the root of all this!
“Taylor sees that her daughter, Steffy, is unhappy and upset,” Lang recently told TV Insider. “As much as Brooke believes that her daughter, Hope, should be with Liam, Taylor feels the same way about her daughter.”
“There’s no trying to get to [Brooke] because she doesn’t listen to reason,” Tylo counters. “Taylor’s been letting stuff sit and stew for years. She’s not happy and, now, she’s got to vent!”
Lang concurs that Ridge may be at the root of all of this because of the triangle similarities.
“There are hurts that are still there and they can resurface,” said Lang. “It goes back to [Ridge] in the sense that it’s repeating all over again with [Liam choosing Hope].”

There’s another relationship of Taylor’s that she may feel Brooke has usurped — Taylor’s wonderful dynamic with the late Stephanie (Susan Flannery). When Stephanie died, it was Brooke who was there at the end — not Taylor.
“This is all part of the building resentment that Taylor has for Brooke,” Tylo says.
It all built to a head today when Brooke and Taylor had their cake-flinging showdown. Time will tell if Liam and Hope’s marriage survives, but after Wednesday’s battle, their wedding cake did not!
