There are bad days and there are really bad days. That’s what Stephanie Forrester found out on The Bold and the Beautiful when she learned the identity of her husband’s lover.
Thorne (Jeff Trachta) knew that his father, Eric (John McCook), was dating Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), whom Stephanie (Susan Flannery) hated with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns ever since Brooke dated her son Ridge (then Ronn Moss).
Initially, Thorne was on the fence about whether or not tell his mother knowing A) it would hurt her and B) it would anger his father who was trying to keep things quiet so Stephanie wouldn’t contest the divorce.
After Thorne broke the news to his mother about Eric and Brooke, Stephanie freaked out. She couldn’t believe Eric would do that to her.

Thorne had more bad news to tell his mom — Brooke was pregnant with Eric’s child.
In the moments that followed, Stephanie absorbed the awful impact of all this in scenes that were augmented by a haunting score. Poor Stephanie.
