Stephanie Forrester defined “helicopter parenting” to her grown children on The Bold and the Beautiful. She had that loving (if, at times, overbearing) concern for her extended family, too — as Jessica Forrester, Eric’s niece, discovered when she came to live with her uncle’s ex-wife.
Jessica (Matiland Ward) developed a crush on Dylan Shaw (Dylan Neal), one of Forrester Creations’ interns and an aspiring designer. Granted it was only a few years, but there was both an age difference and Dylan’s position at work to keep in mind so Jess kept her budding relationship a secret.
Jess didn’t want Eric (John McCook) to can Dylan before his career even started!

Standing up to the bossy matriarch wasn’t easy, but that’s just what Jessica did when Stephanie (Susan Flannery) tried to find out who’d sent impressionable Jessica a bouquet of beautiful flowers.
Eventually, Jessica and Dylan’s dynamic came to light, but the couple had bigger problems. Namely, Dylan’s affair with Jessica’s mother Maggie (Barbara Crampton)! But that’s a video flashback for another day!
