Brooke’s made some provocative decisions on The Bold and the Beautiful including taking control of Forrester and going after every man in Stephanie’s life! But B&B fans recall her most heinous act in the show’s early days — withholding a letter!
Caroline (Joanna Johnson) had decided to marry Thorne (then Clayton Norcross) after she broke off her engagement to Ridge Forrester (then Ronn Moss), the man Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) wanted for herself.
Caroline had moved onto Thorne after he saw her through a date rape ordeal. Seeking safety, Caroline accepted Thorne’s proposal, thinking it was over with Ridge.
But Ridge still cared about her and wrote Caroline a letter, detailing his feelings. Ridge asked Katie (then Nancy Sloan) to give Caroline the letter. But Brooke intercepted the note and kept it from her, hoping to keep Ridge for herself!
Stephanie (Susan Flannery) uncovered things with the help of Katie, who found the letter under a bed in the Logan home where Caroline was staying.

The Forrester matriarch asked Brooke to deliver Ridge’s note to Caroline. She felt that was only fitting since Steph suspected that Brooke was behind the note getting “misplaced.”
Technically, Caroline read the note but it was just prior to her scheduled ceremony to Thorne, which she decided to go through with. Months later, Brooke confessed to Caroline that she had withheld the letter. Rightfully so, Caroline blasted Brooke saying that she might have made a different decision had she had more time to process Ridge’s words!
Caroline and Brooke’s relationship was never the same.
