Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful today are well-acquainted with Bill Spencer, Jr. (Don Diamont), the publishing guru who goes back and forth between light and dark. He’s the son of Bill Spencer, Sr., who used to be a major player in town.
He liked power and the ladies, just like his soon, but there was so much more to him. Here’s some background on the original Bill Spencer from The Bold and the Beautiful, who was played by Jim Storm, one of the show’s original cast members.
Daddy Dearest
In BB’s first episode, we met Bill, who clearly established himself as an overprotective dad — there was no way he was going to let Ridge marry his daughter Caroline. Bill hired a private eye to snap photos of Ridge being unfaithful. He showed the pictures to Caroline, who fainted before the “I do’s” could be exchanged.
Partners In Crime
Bill may have married Margo, but he always had a fascination with Stephanie. When the Forrester matriarch needed an ally to give Stephen Logan a job in Paris, so he’d leave town with his estranged with Beth, paving the way for a Stephanie/Eric reunion, Bill helped her out.
Smart Move
After his marriage to Margo ended, Bill took up with Spectra’s cute but daft secretary Darla Einstein and infused Spectra with some funds — provided that Spectra hire his long-lost daughter Karen, the late Caroline’s twin, in a position of authority.

Deadly Dosage
Meddling Stephanie once again reached out to Bill after he’d expanded into pharmaceuticals. She planned to use a pill that Bill’s company devised to cause Morgan DeWitt (who was pregnant by Ridge) to have a miscarriage but she failed — only for a fall down the stairs to later cause the same result. Morgan lost the baby.
Surprise Son
Bill had often said Caroline was his only child, which was understandable as Karen had been kidnapped as an infant. But Bill also had a son — Bill Spencer, Jr. — who continues his father’s legacy of pursuing women, making alliances, and plotting against his enemies!
