Scott Clifton has one of the more interactive Twitter accounts. The Bold and the Beautiful star is known to directly respond to folks on social media. He recently gave a Soaps 101 lesson to a follower who expressed an opinion over how Liam is behaving.
Scott Clifton Knows Liam
As viewers know, Liam is concerned about Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and her addiction to opioids. Her doctor, Finn (Tanner Novlan), has been treating her, supporting her, and has expressed an interest in her romantically. Liam, under the guise of wanting what’s best for his ex-wife, is, to some, appearing a bit jealous.

This is when Clifton chimed in, pointing out to the viewer that there’s a reason Liam is behaving the way he is. “This is a misunderstanding of the narrative,” the three-time Daytime Emmy-winner said. “You are *supposed* to recognize that Liam is in the wrong here. He’s rationalizing.

“The point isn’t to make Liam look good,” Clifton adds, “the point is to make him look *bad*—not only to the audience, but to the other characters as well. Enjoy it!”
Down the line, it’s conceivable that Liam will examine why he’s behaving the way he is. And how he reacts to that is all part of the story, the journey. Fans love watching soaps to see characters grow and learn, as we do in real life.
For most of Liam’s tenure on the show, he’s been torn between two women at the same time. He’s squared off against his brother, Wyatt (Darin Brooks), in love triangles, but this setup is different. Happily married to Hope (Annika Noelle), Liam, by all rights, should let Steffy go and live her life and find love.
He may come to realize that his feelings about Finn have more to do with Steffy having any other man in her life rather than Liam thinking Finn isn’t the right guy for her.
