The Bold and the Beautiful star Ashley Jones has been staying busy. When she’s not making appearances as Bridget, the actress is embarking on other endeavors.
Her latest project is a role in the short film, We Die Alone, by director Marc Cartwright.
The film tells the story of a man named Aidan (Baker Chase Powell), who is deeply affected by his loneliness and insecurity. He wants to experience love. Enter Elaine, Jones’ character, whom the actress describes as someone who “has a really good heart. She wants to help people and herself. She thinks she’s made a connection with this guy, but she misreads his advances and gets into an interesting situation.”
We Die Alone is Hitchcockian in many ways. “The film is intriguing in the way Hitchcock’s films are,” says Jones. “(Adian) has a rotary phone. He hasn’t advanced with life and you see how that affects him.”
Cartwright says he became an admirer of Jones not from her daytime roles (she also played Megan on The Young and the Restless and Parker Forsyth on General Hospital) but rather from her performances on another show.
“I have been a fan of Ashley Jones, who was my first choice to play Elaine, since I initially watched her on the popular HBO series True Blood,” Cartwright says.
Filming this project last year actually ended up coinciding with a time when BB wanted Jones back as Bridget for a family event. Fortunately, the actress was able to do both.
“Everyone was really accommodating,” says Jones, who isn’t the first actor to experience getting offers for two roles at the same time! She says that keeping a positive outlook led to the phone ringing more often. “You change your perspective, you change your world.”
