The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Friday, January 4 features the show’s 8000th episode. Have your tissues ready because their tear-jerking day was full of shock, loss, and despair.
Broken Hearts
Liam (Scott Clifton) made it to the island but not in time. His second daughter, Beth, came into the world in a dark room, delivered by a shady doctor whose life is full of secrets and debts.
By the time Liam arrived, little Beth was with the doctor. He got to see her (off-screen), but it wasn’t good news. And then he was tasked with breaking the horrifying story to his beautiful wife.
This is the hardest thing Liam’s ever had to do. Hope (Annika Noelle) was weak, but awake and couldn’t wait to start her life with her daughter. She knew the baby was in the next room but couldn’t fathom what was taking so long.
Horrible News
Poor Hope went from sharing her plans for the daughter’s life to having her heart broken by the news of Beth’s tragic death. Her baby girl didn’t make it through the complicated delivery.

Dr. Buckingham (Wayne Brady) did his best to explain the devastating news to the couple, but his words did little to comfort the grieving parents. The loss was just too much.
More Sadness To Come
Back at the FC main office, Bill (Don Diamont), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) were unaware of the tragedy. The grandparents were struggling to find a way to get to the island to be by the couple’s side and celebrate the baby’s birth.
Unfortunately, what awaits them will break their hearts.
