Viewers saw Thomas’s handsome face resurface after falling into a vat of chemicals on The Bold and the Beautiful — and it wasn’t dissolved so it clearly wasn’t the dangerous acid Hope thought it was. Now, he’s back on the scene, manipulating those around him to get what he wants — and that’s Hope!
Did you ever think Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) was truly dead on BB? Soap Hub posed this question to fans. Read on for the results.
An overwhelming majority of you, about 87%, said that no, you didn’t think Thomas was dead. After all, you did see his face after it he had fallen into the vat of liquid (pretty much proving right away that if it had been acid, he would have shown the negative effects almost immediately).
Plus, Thomas is a true legacy character. He’s the offspring of a core family member, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), who premiered in BB’s first episode. Atkinson has been turning in a tour-de-force as Thomas is myopically focused on winning Hope’s heart. There’s no way BB was going to lose this guy!
No Hope For Thomas
Almost 12% of The Bold and the Beautiful fans say that yes, you did believe that Thomas was dead. BB’s killed off key players before, dating back to the show’s first few years. Beloved Caroline (Joanna Johnson) died in Ridge’s arms. The show has also killed off Beth Logan (Robin Riker), Ann Douglas (Betty White), Macy (Bobbie Eakes), and Darla (Schae Harrison).
Soaps have to make bold (no pun intended!) moves to keep viewers tuning in to the show. You could have seen the show doing this. Ridge would never forgive Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) if she’d kept something like this from him!
The rest of you, less than 1%, weighed in with theories including that Thomas could have been gravely hurt by his fall into the (non-lethal) solution. If he had been, then Hope would have felt so guilty that she would have done anything Thomas wanted! What’s Thomas’s next move? Stay tuned to find out.
