The Bold and the Beautiful has a history of shining a light on the issue of homelessness. After Stephanie Forrester suffered a mini-stroke following Eric and Brooke’s marriage, she lost her memory and lived among the homeless in Los Angeles. The show revisited this story years later. Now, the gang at BB is teaming up to help fight homelessness in real life.

The Bold and the Beautiful Team Effort

This past weekend, many of the show’s cast members took part in a 5K walk to help aid the Los Angeles Union Rescue Mission, which provides resources to homeless individuals and families.

“Today I am joining Team @boldandbeautifulcbs in the #5k #URMWalk in support of @unionrescuemission & their valiant efforts to eradicate homelessness in #LosAngeles,” Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) shared on Instagram. “They give hope to people who have lost theirs. #URM provides resources such as shelter, food, medical attention, counselors, school, spiritual guidance, and much more.”

Participants were invited to walk wherever they could — outside or event at home! “Just got on my elliptical as part of Team @boldandbeautifulcbs for the virtual 5k @URM walk to fight homelessness!” posted Don Diamont (Bill). “LETS GO!!! #urmwalk2020.”

Rena Sofer (Quinn) did a more traditional walk, but as you can see in her social media post below, she got outside to do her walk. “My family and I are joining team @boldandbeautifulcbs for the #urm #5K virtual walk to raise money and support the @unionrescuemission,” Sofer posted on Instagram.

“The #BoldandBeautiful has been working with the #URM and @andybales1 since 2009 when the show broke the fourth wall to tell the stories of those people living on #skidrow in #DTLA There are over 66,000 homeless people in #LosAngeles and we want to help. If you want to donate please go to www.urmwalk.org and you can support the Bold and the Beautiful team!!!! #BradBell #endhomelessnes”

Matthew Atkinson (Thomas) put a spin on an activity to help support the Los Angeles Union Rescue Mission, recalling a post from a year ago in which he scaled down the side of a VERY tall building (!) as he raised funds for the organization.

“Last year, I repelled off the side of a building,” Atkinson posted. “(Luckily @katrinakbowden was there to catch me if I fell) I did it cause it’s awesome…AND the money raised went to help people that needed it.” The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.

Last year, I repelled off the side of a building. (Luckily @katrinakbowden was there to catch me if I fell) I did it cause it’s awesome…AND the money raised went to help people that needed it. @unionrescuemission is a non-profit that has been serving people in need in LA for 129 years. They’ve been in the community through the Great Depression, WWII, civil rights, and are stronger than ever today. They help provide shelter, food, counseling, and guidance to people suffering in one of the poorest parts of our city. Last year we were fortunate enough to repel down the side of a building, this year we’re walking, and ever little thing we can do to help this organization – helps our community. A couple of bucks can help someone through addiction, give someone hungry a meal, or a much needed night of sleep with a roof over their head. It’s worth foregoing a cup of coffee, or one post-mated meal if you can. I know a lot of people are struggling right now, but if you’re not and you can help – please do.
