She played two of daytime televisions most popular heiresses, and since her departure from the soaps, she has had an incredibly successful career on The Great White Way. And today, actress MacKenzie Mauzy has a major milestone to celebrate.
Happy Birthday, MacKenzie Mauzy
That’s because she was born on October 14, 1988, in Greensboro, North Carolina, which means that this talented performer is turning 31 years old today! Before pursuing roles in television and film, Mauzy worked in multiple stage productions of such classic plays as A Christmas Carol, Snow White, Macbeth, and Annie. Her starring role in the latter earned her the Anna Wentworth award for “Best Child Actress.”
Mauzy’s on-camera debut happened in October 2000 when she took over the part of Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light from incumbent Hayden Panettiere. She stayed with the Procter & Gamble produced soap opera until August 2002.
In 2006, the East coast based actress made the move to Los Angeles so she could appear on another CBS soap. This time it was The Bold and the Beautiful, and she played legacy character, Phoebe Forrester. During her time at the show, Mauzy was able to show off her immense vocal talent and her character pursued a career in the music industry.
Two years later, MacKenzie Mauzy went on recurring status at the soap so she could also take part in the Broadway production of A Tale of Two Cities. Jacqueline MacInnes Wood was cast as Phoebe’s (formerly identical) twin sister Stephanie (Steffy) and rose to prominence.
In late 2006, Mauzy would exit BB in order to pursue other roles and, since Wood had no desire to play twins, Phoebe was killed off via a car accident. Subsequent guest spots in series such as Cold Case, Law and Order, Drop Dead Diva and Bones soon followed for Mauzy as well as roles in two Broadway productions — Next to Normal and White Noise.
