New characters are the lifeblood of any soap opera. Imagine The Bold and the Beautiful if Dollar Bill Spencer had never been added to the canvas? Or Quinn? Or Liam? You get the idea.

Soaps can’t just say with who premiered on the show in its first episode. New personas need to come onto the scene to shake things up. But does BB, which is only half an hour in length, really need an unknown element at this time? Soap Hub asked BB fans this question. Read on for the results.
A Bride For Thomas
The majority of you, nearly 62%, would like a mate for Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). Look how quickly Tanner Novlan fit into the BB scene as Finn, Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) love interest/doctor.
Maybe Thomas could be paired with a dynamic reporter who works for Spencer Publications? Or find someone in a widowers’ support group, a single mom with a daughter? It’d be nice to see Thomas move forward and not backward with his life.
No Vacancy
While BB can also stand for Bed and Breakfast, about 16% of you say that it should stand for “Bold and Beautiful” — as in no room at this BB. You think the cast is just fine as it is. There are plenty of pairings the show could explore with the current crop of characters.

What about Shauna (Denise Richards) and Eric (John McCook)? Or Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor)? BB doesn’t need new players when so many of their existing ones still have unexplored avenues to travel.
Marry Me, Bill
Bill (Don Diamont) wants nothing more than a secure future with Katie (Heather Tom), but perhaps it’s time for a new man (get it?) to enter Katie’s life. If some mogul or fashion house owner were to court Katie, there’d be an instant rivalry between this guy and Bill. Over 15% of you think that’d be a great idea. If Katie can’t live with Bill’s, shall we say, “fondness” for Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), she might want to keep herself on the market.
A Real Husband Of Beverly Hills
The rest of you, about 7%, say that you’d like to see a new guy come on the scene for Shauna. The chemistry between Shauna and Eric (John McCook) is there but Shauna doesn’t want to hurt her pal Quinn so, she’ll probably stay away from the Forrester patriarch.
