Courtney Hope gives one compelling and vulnerable performance after the other as the tough-as-nails Sally Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful. It’s hard to think of a soap heroine who’s been knocked down more times in 2017 than B&B’s fiery redhead.

Nearly 86% of you feel bad for Sally. And why not? Since the character’s introduction, we’ve seen her fight Steffy for a place in Thomas’s life, watched her sister Coco be dragged into corporate espionage, say goodbye to Thomas, and nearly lose her life in an explosion that destroyed Spectra Fashions!
Additionally, Sally fell for Liam, whom she knows is devoted to his wife Steffy. Sally can’t catch a break!
It Could Be Worse
Some of you, a little over 14%, don’t feel bad for Sally. You see her as a scrappy heroine who gets knocked down seven times and comes up fighting eight! Even when Sally’s lost everything, she regroups and holds out hope for the future.

When it looked as if Sally was going to die, she still wanted to live life to the fullest and share with Liam her feelings for him. Sally’s zest for life makes her an object of envy — not pity!
Time Will Tell
A happy soap opera heroine can often be a boring one. It’s a reality of daytime drama that characters on a journey are more interesting to watch. So while we’re hoping that Sally gets some happiness in the coming year, she may be more fun to watch if she doesn’t.
A reunion with Thomas would be nice. Or perhaps a successful showing that receives favorable reviews. Sally might even settle for having her business not go up in flames! We’re not sure what’s in store next for Sally, but we know she’ll come back fighting every time.
