In a tradition started by her TV grandmother, Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie Forrester), The Bold and the Beautiful star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, last year’s lead actress winner for her role as Steffy Forrester Finnegan, hosted this year’s nominees in the same category for their “Leading Ladies Luncheon.”

This year’s guest list included nominees Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves) and Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) both of General Hospital; Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker) and Marci Miller (Abigail Deveraux DiMera) both of Days of our Lives, and also, though she appears to be a no-show based on the photos, Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair, The Young and the Restless). The luncheon was held at LOAM at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles.

The tradition had not yet been implemented when Watros won her Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress category for playing Annie Dutton on Guiding Light in 1998, so this was her first year attending. “I have heard about this,” Watros told Soap Hub. “One of the producers [at GH] told me about it. I think it’s so lovely, a great tradition. I love to be supportive of other women. I’m all for that.”

LOAM Again, Naturally

Zucker recalls attending the luncheon back in 2014 when it was hosted by Heather Tom (Katie Logan, B&B). “I haven’t seen Laura in forever,” Zucker told Soap Hub prior to the luncheon. “I’ve met Cynthia…it’s going to be fun to get to know each other and catch up and have fun. It’s so nice to get together. It’s a special time and will be a reminder of when we could go to things together [all the time]. I’ve always loved being able to get together with people from other soaps.”

The event did not disappoint! Zucker posted on Instagram after the get-together, “What a wonderful Saturday brunch with these beautiful ladies for our ladies luncheon @loam.dtla.” Zucker added, “Thanks ladies for the amazing conversation @jacquelinemwood_1 @welcometolaurasworld @_marcimiller_ @watros.watros @daytimeemmys @nbcdays @boldandbeautifulcbs @generalhospitalabc @youngandrestlesscbs #ilovesoaps.”

Wright put on her director’s cap and created a video that she posted on Instagram set to the Darcy Stokes’ version of Dancing in the Moonlight. “Leading Ladies Luncheon 2022 @loam.dtla,” Wright wrote. As you can see in the video, Miller brought along her adorable daughter Willett. On Wright’s post, Y&R’s Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra) commented with three heart emojis followed by: “beautiful powerhouse women.”
