Monday, September 7 – REPEAT Episode #301 – OAD 06/04/26
There were many flashbacks in this episode that told the story of the beginnings of Hayley and Randy’s big con. In the present, Hayley (Marquita Goings) and Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) talked about the past, before BTG started. When Hayley and Randy met to discuss their upcoming scheme, Hayley assumed their mark would be Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). But Randy had another idea. He did the research, and it was his idea to make Bill Hamilton, Esquire (Timon Kyle Durrett), their target. And Hayley’s in would be through Naomi (Arielle Prepetit). Hayley got close to Bill’s daughter and became her best friend.
In the present day, Andre (Sean Freeman) consoled Dani (Karla Mosley) while she took a tough stroll down memory lane. A recent chat with Bill triggered memories of how she twisted herself to be everything for Bill. She told Andre how hard she tried to hold on to her marriage, even after Bill had been with Hayley. And that, before Bill and Hayley got married, she went to him and begged him to stop the wedding and come back to her. And he wouldn’t. We saw some of this in flashbacks.
Meanwhile, present-day Bill ruminated on both his past and present romantic relationships, and sisters Naomi and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) met up and began talking about their parents’ rocky marriage. Through flashbacks, we saw the Hamiltons at home and Hayley coming into their lives. Dani was the one who suggested that Bill hire Hayley to work at the law firm. And they started to connect. And then start an affair. Hayley played into his ego because Dani was pouring so much of herself into managing Chelsea. She was often gone with Chelsea, who was modeling.
And we even saw what happened to bust Dani and Bill’s marriage wide open. Dani and Chelsea arrived home unexpectedly while Bill and Hayley were in his and Dani’s bedroom, trying to pack his stuff up and get out of there. They didn’t make it out in time. They had to talk to Dani and Chelsea.
All in all, Dani still has to forgive the person that she turned to while married to Bill. Bill still doesn’t see the real person he’s married to. And Randy warned Hayley to keep her eyes on the prize.
Tuesday, September 8 – Episode #363
Anita (Tamara Tunie) confronted Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) after her fellow Articulettes told her to swallow her pride. If they wanted to pay tribute to Barbara, they would have to give in to Leslie’s demands: producer credit, and she wanted to be there in the studio. Anita conceded, but she had her own conditions for Leslie.
Jacob (Jibre Hordges) was stuck between work and family. He questioned Smitty (Mike Manning), who was privately hurting over Lia Whitmore’s death. He was, after all, one of the last ones to see Lia (Cecelia Specht) alive. Naomi was right by Smitty’s side. She acted as his lawyer as Jacob conducted the interrogation. Martin (Brandon Claybon) was watching as well.
And it turned into more of an interrogation than a questioning. Naomi had to ensure that Jacob treated her like official counsel. This situation caused friction between the couple. Smitty wanted to know if Jacob had started treating Lia’s death as a murder investigation.
After Leslie met with Vernon (Clifton Davis) and before Anita confronted her, Leslie found time to carry out a little sabotage against Ted’s chances to get on the good side of Shanice’s brothers. She told them about her sordid past with Ted (Keith D. Robinson), and so when Ted finally showed up at the country club, Lamont (Denzell Dandridge) and Cedric (Khiry Walker) basically wanted nothing to do with Ted.
Meanwhile, Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) was at the hospital with Ashley (Jen Jacob) and Monica (Iona Morris). She worried about Ted being late to meet her brothers. Back at the hospital, Ted admitted that Shanice was right about her brothers. But he told her that he wouldn’t give up.
Wednesday, September 9 – Episode #364
Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) unveiled the newly revamped high-roller room for Joey. And after a little hesitation, he told Vanessa that he loved it. She was so happy and relieved. It could have gone either way. Meanwhile, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Heather (Ashley Jones) had a tense encounter at Orphey Gene’s when Nicole walked in and spotted Heather talking with her grandkids, Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) and Samantha (Najah Jackson).
They kept things cordial, but Nicole clearly wasn’t happy to see Heather interacting with them. Afterward, she paid Joey a visit. She warned the casino owner to keep his sister away from her grandchildren. Elsewhere, Naomi strategized with Kat (Colby Nixon) and Chelsea. Chelsea, in particular, was angry that her social media reputation was experiencing backlash. Naomi advised the business partners that they needed to continue to keep quiet. That all of this would blow over once the real reason why they pulled out of the Tokyo Fashion Collective was revealed.
At the precinct, Jacob and Elon (Malachi Malik) clashed, especially when Jacob told his dad that Naomi had shown up at Smitty’s side when he questioned him about going to see Lia in prison shortly before her death. Martin and Smitty hosted a send-off for Tyrell that included June (Jasmine Burke), Ted, and Nicole. Bill’s health seemed to be bothering him, although he wouldn’t admit as much to Hayley, who showed frustration with her husband. She wanted access to the app monitoring his pacemaker. Later, Hayley met up with Randy, who gave her more of the dangerous toxin.
Bill and Naomi strategized over Madison’s case. Naomi came up with their next move against Mike (Pierce Lackey), one that may prove a winner. Then she headed over to the precinct to smooth things over with her husband while Bill and Hayley met up at the country club. He was in a good mood and talked about hoping Naomi would want to join forces with him on a more permanent basis.
Finally, Joey told Heather that when he told her to stay away from Smitty, that meant his kids as well. That she needed to go back to London. Heather basically told her brother that she was sticking around.
Thursday, September 10 – Episode #365
While Anita worked on her vocals, Leslie and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) showed up uninvited and without an appointment. Leslie wanted to hear Barbara’s recordings. But a fed-up Anita let them know that she doesn’t have any of those recordings at home. They were being kept safe. But she ultimately came up with a substitute. An old tape recording of Barbara singing “Happy Birthday” to her back in the day. Leslie and Eva appreciated hearing it and were in their feels. Vernon and Anita talked about what making this album honoring Barbara might entail. Digging up the past will undoubtedly bring up bad memories.
Joey connected Vanessa with Izaiah (Lami) regarding Deanna (Angela Fairley), who doesn’t want to go back to Banneker. She was contemplating sitting out a year, even though she was a senior. Vanessa asked Izaiah to talk to her daughter and get her to see reason and go back to school. He agreed. And when he met with Deanna, he listened to her. She admitted that she wanted her mom to end her relationship with Joey. He told her about his troubles with his dad.
After he left Caffeine Fix, it was clear she was snowing Izaiah. But when she “talked” with her dad, she said she didn’t want her life to become about hating Joey. She wanted to go back to school. In the end, she decided to leave for Banneker the next day. She told Noah (Nick Hagelin) first. Her going back to Banneker won’t stop them from seeing each other. Izaiah and Eva met up at Orphey Gene’s, where they talked about his talking to Deanna and her hearing Barbara’s vocals.
Naomi and Bill went up against Mike again. The sleazy lawyer tried to get them to settle. However, Naomi and Bill were confident that the motion to compel they filed with the judge would give them the edge. So they weren’t about settling any time soon. The judge agreed to a hearing. But the big moment between Bill and Naomi came when he apologized for not being more sensitive regarding her feelings about Hayley.
He knew that Hayley had betrayed her, and he wanted her to put all of that aside and accept his new wife. Naomi wanted to know where this was coming from. Their talk soon turned to Sammy, but Naomi let her dad know that “Sammy” was an alias. That his real name was Randy. And then she dropped another one of Hayley’s lies in his lap. She told him that Hayley had faked her ultrasound. Naomi told him why she kept Hayley’s secret, but Bill was floored.
Friday, September 11 – Episode #366
In Seoul, Dani texted with Bill, and those texts were rather flirty. While she laughed at her ex-husband’s latest message, Andre returned. It was their last day in South Korea, and the couple talked about how to spend it. Instead of going out, they stayed in and had fun in the hotel room. But not before Dani received more texts. Andre wondered who was blowing up his wife’s phone, and she came clean. It was Bill. Andre wasn’t happy, but he dealt with it.
Meanwhile, Bill confronted Hayley about the fake ultrasound. Her excuse was that she didn’t want to know if something was wrong, so she printed out a fake sonogram. And then she had the “miscarriage,” and that validated her fears. Bill kind of understood, but he told her the lies were becoming a pattern. They couldn’t keep talking about it because they had a hearing. Naomi and Mike arrived, and they met with the judge virtually. The judge sided with Team Madison.
Chelsea and Madison (Kenjah) were able to take a time out for romance, even with Madison’s lawsuit, the sweatshop scandal, and the looming shadow of Allison (Brianna Roberts). Elsewhere, Tomas (Alex Alegria) instigated a disagreement with Kat. He was frustrated that he wasn’t on Madison’s team for the lawsuit. And he took it out on her. She tried to give him a ChelseaKat bag for his abuelita, but he accused her of thinking about herself and her business. And then he walked out in the middle of their meal. He later leaned on Eva for support while Izaiah lent his support to Kat at the club. She gave him the purse that Tomas didn’t accept. Eva and Izaiah were happy they were relationship goals, unlike Kat and Tomas.
Shanice and Ted ambushed Lamont and Cedric at Orphey Gene’s. Ted wanted his say, and the nurse’s brothers reluctantly gave it to him. Unfortunately for Ted, Cedric and Lamont didn’t change their minds. They felt their sister’s boyfriend was trash. Finally, at Uptown, Hayley warned Tomas about watching out for Naomi. She told him that Naomi was a threat to him at the law firm. This conversation happened as Bill and Naomi celebrated their win over Mike. They seemed to enjoy working together as a team.
