Kat’s Homecoming
After a week off, the drama in the DMV kicks off with a joyous welcome home for Kat (Colby Nixon), who is out of the hospital after donating part of her liver to Kat. “Surprise!” the family shouts after she walks through the door at Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon’s mansion. Ted (Keith D. Robinson) is even there to give her a hug.
Randy’s Assignment
The action then cuts to Joey’s casino, where Joey (Jon Lindstrom) has a request for Randy (Maurice P. Kerry). “Would Deanna recognize you?” he asks his go-to guy for most of his shady assignments. “Maybe. Why?” Randy asks. “She’s the job,” Joey gruffly explains. We then see Randy hugging Deanna (Angela Fairley). It’s not a stretch that Randy would know Vanessa’s daughter, since he and Doug (Jason Graham) used to be great friends.
Joey probably doesn’t buy Deanna’s sudden 180 on accepting his relationship with her mother. And that’s why he wants Randy to suddenly be up in Deanna’s business. The teasers hint that this assignment will make Randy uncomfortable.
Madison’s Lawsuit
At Bill’s law office, the case against Madison (Kenjah) resumes. And Hayley (Marquita Goings) shares some choice words with Bill’s former law partner, Mike Davis (Pierce Lackey). “You are crazy if you think that you can win this case,” Hayley states. She has to make her loyalty to Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) look good even though she’s trying to murder him at the same time.
Mike isn’t backing down, however. “Oh, I know I can win,” he says arrogantly. And the group sits down, ready for a battle. “Let’s get to it,” Bill suggests, wanting to waste no time.
Naomi’s Secret
“If you reached for solace outside of your marriage, anyone would understand,” Dani (Karla Mosley, who took part in a sweet new video for CBS Daytime) tells her daughter, sounding like she thinks that Naomi may have had an affair — emotional or otherwise. But that’s not the case here. “I’ve been lying to him for months,” Naomi cries. Hold up, is she about to tell her mom what she has been lying about for months? Hopefully, this is the week she comes clean about testing positive for the BRCA gene.
New Rivalry
A rivalry is born at the hospital when Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) faces the new chief of staff. “As of today, the partnership between Garland and your free clinic…it’s over,” Monica (Iona Morris) reveals. “Excuse me,” Leslie responds. The Red Market plasma ring drama did muddy things up between the clinic and the hospital. Leslie may try her best to salvage the partnership. She may find Monica a tough obstacle to overcome, however.
Tomas’s Proposal
Finally, it looks like Tomas (Alex Alegria) goes ahead with the plan that nobody else thinks is a good idea. He pops the question to Kat. And she looks stunned. How will she answer?
