Monday on Beyond the Gates, Andre ends up confiding his fears. But it’s not Dani that he turns to, it’s her daughter, Chelsea. Does this mean that his fears involve his wife? The spoilers for the first day of June also include Nicole coming clean and Shanice struggling with her grief.

Key Takeaways

  • Andre opens up to Chelsea about his fears instead of confiding in Dani.
  • Nicole decides to tell Ted the truth about her lingering fantasies.
  • Jacob channels his grief into a mission to avenge Derek’s death.

Andre Turns to Chelsea

Andre (Sean Freeman) isn’t an insecure man. He knows what he wants, and he currently lives a charmed life. The photographer continues to get work that takes him around the world. He’s married to a wonderful woman, and her family has accepted him and treats him like one of their own. Even Dani’s daughters have come around. Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) now see that Andre is good for their mother.

But the photographer has a tragic past. He lost his own family in one fell swoop. And so his struggles sometimes stem from that tragic past. On Monday, Andre confides his fears to Chelsea. He is usually honest and open with Dani (Karla Mosley). If he’s confiding in Chelsea, there has to be a reason. Maybe it’s because his fears have to do with losing Dani, either to cancer or to Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett). What is he about to tell Chelsea?

More Coming Clean, This Time It’s Nicole’s Turn

Andre isn’t the only one who’s suddenly opening up and getting things off their chest. Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix) decides to come clean with Ted (Keith D. Robinson) about her fantasies. Around their anniversary, Nicole began fantasizing about her ex-husband. It happened during inappropriate moments, like after having sex with Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley).

Nicole’s ready to come clean with Ted, however. Maybe she has worked through whatever made her think about Ted that way. Let’s see how Ted reacts to finding out about the fantasies. It may mess him up.

Shanice Needs to Open Up

Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) spoke at Derek’s memorial service. His death really hit her hard. After all, they flirted with being a couple. And instead became good friends. She was his physical therapist after his accident. She was also his confidante, and she told Derek (Ben Gavin) the truth when he couldn’t see it for himself. They were close, and now he’s gone. Needless to say, she’s struggling. Will Ted be there to support her? If not him, who?

Jacob Chooses Vengeance

On Monday, look for Izaiah (Lami) to need straight answers from Joey (Jon Lindstrom), his former mentor. Maybe Izaiah wants specifics about Joey’s involvement (or non-involvement) with the plasma ring.

Meanwhile, Naomi is unnerved by Jacob’s determination to avenge Derek’s death. It makes sense, though. Derek died trying to save Jacob (Jibre Hordges). Plus, Derek’s dad blames the detective for his son’s death. Jacob will naturally put all of his energy into making sure that his best friend’s death isn’t in vain.

And if he keeps moving, then he doesn’t have to start the grieving process. So Naomi may finally have her husband back, but does she? She will have to figure out how to support her husband through this trying time.
