The fallout from Bill’s collapse continues to create shockwaves of drama on Beyond the Gates. Next week is more of the same. After Vernon, Anita, and Nicole confronted Dani about her Bill issues, Vernon goes to the source himself. Weekly Recaps: August 10-14, 2026
Monday, August 10 – Episode #343
Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) discussed Kat’s recent choices, while Dani’s spa day with Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) was interrupted. Hayley’s travel plans were derailed. There was no going to St. Bart’s for her because of Bill’s health emergency. At the law firm, Caroline (Ellie Wang) rushed to Bill’s rescue.
Darlene (Monique Mosee), in her role as a 911 operator, walked Caroline through the steps to help save Bill’s life. At the precinct, she told Jacob (Jibre Hordges) to call Naomi and get her and her family to the hospital ASAP. The family gathered at the hospital, where Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) was in surgery. A frantic and worried Dani got into it with Hayley (Marquita Goings), who put on a performance for everyone.
And during her rant, Dani (Karla Mosley) made a great, big slip of the tongue. She called Bill her husband instead of her ex-husband. Hayley heard it. Her family heard it. Andre (Sean Freeman) wasn’t around to hear it, however. Meanwhile, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) bonded with Heather (Ashley Jones) over tequila shots at Joey’s casino.
Izaiah (Lami) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) adjusted to life and love after her transplant. Eva continued to struggle with the mental health effects of her scar. Eva didn’t want to talk about it, but Izaiah did. Later, Darlene shared words of wisdom with Izaiah that gave him a new perspective on Eva. He went home, where he and Eva had a productive conversation about how this scar was affecting her.
Tuesday, August 11 – Episode #344
In the hospital stairwell, Hayley filled Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) in on what had happened. Randy couldn’t believe that she couldn’t get Bill to St. Bart’s in time. Hayley agreed, but she also said that if he died that night, then they would deal with it. Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Kial (Greg Vaughan) learned about Bill’s emergency and headed to the hospital together.
The doctor gave everyone an update on Bill’s health. He suffered a cardiac arrest. They almost lost him a couple of more times on the operating table, but they were able to save him and insert a pacemaker. The tension between the Duprees and Hayley was at an all-time high.
Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) took it upon herself to support Hayley while she waited to see Bill. Bill woke up, and, unfortunately for Hayley, he asked to see Dani first. He talked to ex-wife about his regrets for the way he treated her during their marriage. He needed a clear conscience just in case the worst-case scenario happened. His request enraged Hayley.
Chelsea, Kat (Colby Nixon), Naomi, and Jacob leaned on each other. Chelsea accidentally scared the hell out of Andre when she told him that Dani was in the hospital. He rushed over to Garland. Before that happened, however, Vernon learned that his family thinks Hayley was cheating on Bill with Joey Armstrong’s guy.
Vernon called Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and demanded answers. Joey, who had just spoken with Randy at Orphey Gene’s, told him he was aware of Randy’s friendship with Hayley. And he assured the retired Senator that he wasn’t trying to manipulate Hayley or use her as leverage against Bill. Andre, who was upset that Dani was at Bill’s bedside, took his wife home, where they reconnected.
Wednesday, August 12 – Episode #345
Kat snuck Orphey Gene’s food into the hospital for Bill, who had texted her for help. Hayley caught them in the act, however. And after things got heated between Hayley and Kat, Kat left, and Hayley told her to take the food with her. She also told Bill she couldn’t believe Kat’s disrespect. She felt she shouldn’t have to put up with it. Bill said that respect was a two-way street.
Things were icy cool between Dani and Andre, and when Vanessa and Joey stopped by their country club table, Andre made an excuse and left. After Joey also made himself scarce, Dani opened up to Vanessa about Bill and Andre. Meanwhile, Andre showed up at the hospital to chat with his uncle Ted (Keith D. Robinson), who asked him pointed questions.
Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) tried to help Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) through his heartbreak. They attempted to distract him with a family party focusing on Banneker. But he couldn’t get Jessica (Camryn Jade) out of his mind. Speaking of Jessica, she summoned Samantha (Najah Jackson) to Orphey Gene’s to ask how Tyrell was doing. Samantha gave Jessica a reality check.
Tomas (Alex Alegria) and Naomi locked horns again. He thought Naomi was marking her territory for whenever Bill’s no longer with them. But he couldn’t have been further from the truth. She told him that he needed to stop demeaning her. That he had nothing to worry about. She was there to give Caroline a gift from the family.
When Naomi and Caroline were alone, they talked about two-faced individuals. Caroline told her that Hayley was no longer the same person she thought she was. And that Naomi shouldn’t trust Tomas. Kat and Tomas met up at Orphey Gene’s. Tomas asked Kat to help him out with Naomi. But that wasn’t something she was willing to do. Finally, Joey and Hayley have a loaded conversation in front of the elevators at the hospital. And Andre pays Bill a visit.
Thursday, August 13 – Episode #346
Andre had a tense visit with Bill. He tried to set boundaries. And Bill couldn’t help but get smug over the fact that Dani hadn’t been able to forget about him. Meanwhile, Heather hung out with Vanessa and Dani again.
Kat showed up at Martin and Smitty’s place ready to help cheer up Tyrell. He wasn’t there, however. But she was there when Smitty received an invitation to appear on a true-crime podcast to discuss his series of articles on the Red Market plasma ring.
Martin’s campaign manager, Shonda (Dawntavia Marrero), immediately tried to forbid Smitty from appearing. She feared it wouldn’t be good for Martin’s campaign. The hosts could try to trip him up. And then it would blow back on Martin’s bid for reelection.
Hayley showed up at Bill’s office with a fruit basket for Caroline, to thank her for saving Bill. Caroline put it next to the much bigger and better basket that Naomi dropped off for her. Caroline advised Hayley to start acting like the devoted wife glued to Bill’s side. And told her to take the heart-happy fruit basket to Bill along with a heartfelt note.
Vanessa and Joey disagreed about Heather’s motives. Joey was wary of his sister, while Vanessa felt Heather was on the up and up and was simply in the DMV to reconnect with her brother. She wished that Dani would stop letting the toxic Bill Hamilton into her life. Joey said that some people out there would consider him toxic, like Bill. However, Vanessa insisted that he was nothing like Bill. Joey would never cheat on her, nor would he lie to her.
At the hospital, Dani confronted Bill to see if he confessed their elevator fling to Andre when the two had words. When Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) served Andre drinks at Uptown, he and Ashley (Jen Jacob) noticed that Andre was in a bad mood. Ashley came clean to Grayson about once wanting Andre for herself. But also said how happy she was with him now.
Andre was upset about his conversation with Bill and how someone from his past wouldn’t stop texting him. He answered the phone when Dani called, and they both were vague about their whereabouts. Andre told Dani that he had never loved anyone more than he loved her. And when he hung up, he received more mysterious texts.
Friday, August 14 – Episode #347
Kat showed up at Orphey Gene’s and had an awkward but civil conversation with Izaiah and Eva. Then she waited for Chelsea to arrive. Chelsea stopped by Izaiah and Eva’s table, too. Later, Chelsea and Kat talked about Bill. Chelsea’s really worried that something else bad will happen, so she decided to stick to her dad like glue.
Meanwhile, Izaiah and Eva continued talking about her scar. Eva had made progress. She and Izaiah were intimate, and Eva appreciated the fact that they were able to keep the lights off. Izaiah talked about another step forward — they could light candles next time.
After Vanessa left for work, Joey arranged for his guys to pick Heather up and escort her to his place. Joey remained suspicious of his sister and her motives, especially her growing closeness to Vanessa. Joey threatened to kill Heather if she tried to hurt Vanessa.
Heather wanted Joey to make space for her in his life again. He felt they were too different. That they had different lines. Heather wasn’t so sure. Joey ultimately let her go, and she said she would call Vanessa about that dinner soon. Joey ordered one of his men to start tailing Heather along with Randy. So he would know where she was at all times.
Martin and Smitty ran into Andre while getting coffee. They startled Andre, which they found odd. Martin asked Andre to join him on his charity basketball 5-on-5 team. Andre said he would rather donate after learning that the event would have a major media presence.
Deanna (Angela Fairley) and Noah (Nick Hagelin) met up at Uptown. Noah played his guitar for her. Later, Vanessa encountered them having lunch. Noah invited Vanessa to sit with them. After Noah left, Deanna told her mom about Noah performing at Uptown’s open mic night the next evening. Vanessa said she would show her support. Deanna was touched.
Afterward, Vanessa returned home to Joey and told him about her good chat with her daughter. Deanna met up with Chelsea and Kat at Orphey Gene’s and asked them to show up to the open mic to support Noah.
Finally, Dani was in the hot seat with her family. Anita, Vernon, and Nicole were skeptical about Dani’s behavior since Bill ended up back in the hospital. They feared that Dani and Bill were entangled, especially given the way she called him her husband rather than her ex-husband. They were pretty intense with their questions and comments.
Her parents and sister don’t want her to go back to that man. Not when she has a beautiful relationship with Andre. Dani assured them that she wasn’t regressing with Bill. She knew who he was. She was simply helping the girls protect a vulnerable Bill from the likes of Hayley, who may be cheating on him. Vernon spotted Andre entering the club, but Andre got a text from the mystery woman and left quickly.
Dani tried calling him, but Andre didn’t answer. Instead, he entered the hotel room. He cautiously walked into the dark room, and then suddenly a light turned on, and it was Heather. Joey’s sister was the woman who lured Andre to a mysterious rendezvous.
