Weekly Recap: July 20-24, 2026

Monday, July 20 – Episode #32
Kat (Colby Nixon) discussed her love life with Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) at the hospital and then with Ted (Keith D. Robinson) at Orphey Gene’s. Ted told Kat that if Tomas (Alex Alegria) was still hurt over the wedding rejection, she had to let him work it out on his own time. Although he was proud of her buying the condo. Kat broke the news about Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) to Nicole, who was upset that the family couldn’t be there for Naomi in her time of need.

Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Dani (Karla Mosley) clashed at Dani’s house. He made it seem that he wanted to continue their affair. And Dani didn’t want anything to do with that. Bill said the two of them had chemistry, but later told her he didn’t really mean that he wanted a torrid affair with her. Nicole interrupted them. At first, Dani thought she knew about her and Bill’s hook-up. But she was there to talk about Naomi’s secret. However, Nicole accidentally told her about Naomi considering a double mastectomy, which upset Dani.

Ted told Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) he was falling in love with her, and Shanice made up an excuse and left. She said she had to think this through. After a chat with Ashley (Jen Jacob), Shanice headed to Ted’s hotel room, where she told him that she was falling in love with him. It’s just that, because of past relationships, she reacted like that out of fear.

Kat finally caught up with Tomas at Uptown, where he poured out his troubles to Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso), the bartender, who had just spent time with Ashley. Kat and Tomas basically got on the same page before he headed on vacation to Puerto Rico. Although Tomas was still threatened by Naomi’s presence. He asked her to keep her eyes and ears open around Naomi. And Bill stopped by, which meant he and Kat traded insults. Kat told Tomas she would drive him to the airport.

Tuesday, July 21 – Episode #329
Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) learned about Naomi’s health status from Dani. She told them that Naomi lied about her BRCA results because she didn’t want the family to deal with more than what they were already dealing with. Anita broke down, feeling guilty and blaming herself. After Vernon left, Dani revealed that Naomi wanted to get a double mastectomy, and Dani wanted her to talk Naomi out of it.

Jacob (Jibre Hordges) gave Elon (Malachi Malik) advice on how to deal with Izaiah (Lami). Elon set up a lunch with Izaiah to try to work on their volatile relationship. At Orphey Gene’s, the conversation started out badly as usual. But Elon and Izaiah eventually got to a better place. Meanwhile, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Nicole were also at Orphey Gene’s, where they checked in with June (Jasmine Burke), who said she was proud of Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller), who was college-bound. And she was grateful to get to be there for her kid’s big moments in life.

Vanessa and Nicole had lunch. They talked about Deanna (Angela Fairley), of course. Nicole tried to manage Vanessa’s expectations regarding Deanna, who was pretty vocal about her hatred for Joey (Jon Lindstrom). So she was a little suspicious of Deanna’s sudden turnaround. They also talked about Nicole’s love life. She had great things to say about Kial (Greg Vaughan) and how he was there for her after the tornado. But she’s still about dating both Kial and Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley). She said she was having fun.

Kial ran into Eva (Ambyr Michelle) at the hospital. She was there for a physical therapy appointment with Shanice. The two had a long talk. He was able to give her some insight into her dad’s perspective. She was frustrated that he kept fussing over her and wouldn’t let her return to work.

But Kial told her a little of what Ted went through when both of his daughters were fighting for their lives during the transplant surgeries. Eva agreed to let up on her dad and told Kial that Nicole has a good guy in him. Also at the hospital, Shanice glowed from what happened between her and Ted. She told Kial, who then spilled the news to Nicole.

Nicole was a bit stunned to learn that Shanice and Ted had reached the l-o-v-e stage of their relationship. Her reaction caused Kial to wonder whether she was still holding out hope for her and Ted.

Marcel (Darryl W. Handy) tried to recruit Jacob to go back undercover to get pertinent information from someone who’s in jail. But Jacob rejected it because he had to focus on things in his life (Naomi), and nothing was going to distract him from that. Elon yelled at Marcel for even running the op by Jacob in the first place. He told Marcel that if anything else came across his desk, to run it by him first.

Wednesday, July 22 – Episode #330
Dani demanded that Anita talk Naomi out of getting a double mastectomy. Anita refused. It was Naomi’s body, so it was her choice. Dani understood, but she wasn’t happy. Meanwhile, Naomi broke the news to her dad. Bill accepted what she told him just like that. And said he was proud of her, which surprised her.

At Uptown, Hayley (Marquita Goings) met up with Randy (Maurice P. Kerry). She told him that she took care of the Lynette (Dominique Madison) problem. That she blamed Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) when she talked to Smitty (Mike Manning), which should keep any suspicion away from Randy. She also talked about how she’s ready for Bill to go — permanently. She had her sights set on St. Bart’s and her How-Stella-Got-Her-Groove-Back moment.

After Kial blabbed the news about Shanice and Ted, Nicole and Shanice had a quick conversation. Shanice wanted to know how Nicole felt. She said it was a little weird, but she was ultimately happy for Shanice and Ted. Elsewhere, Naomi stopped by Anita and Vernona’s place. She got the chance to talk to her grandmother about her positive test result.

She got to explain why she is thinking about going the double mastectomy route. However, Anita also stopped Naomi from being hypocritical regarding her mother not looking into preventative ways to deal with her higher risk of getting cancer. It worked both ways. If Naomi wanted Dani to understand her choices, she would have to understand her mother’s.

At Orphey Gene’s, Deanna came to the rescue of a guy who didn’t have money to pay for his peach cobbler. She paid June instead, and now he owes her. The two were definitely vibing. They momentarily bonded over both losing one of their parents. It turned out that the guy is Noah Rollins (Nick Hagelin), a musician and Kial’s son.

He headed over to the hospital, where he met Nicole and reconnected with his dad. It sounded like Kial would try to set his son up with the general manager position at the free clinic. Finally, Hayley brought Bill a healthy smoothie. After she left, Bill collapsed. Later, he woke up and wondered what in the world was going on with him.

Thursday, July 23 – Episode #331
Bill sat down with Dani at the country club after a major stumble on the way to her table. He wasn’t okay, but he wouldn’t let on. They talked about Naomi. Dani was surprised to hear that Bill was cool simply supporting Naomi’s decisions. They decided they were simply Team Naomi. At Orphey Gene’s, Naomi chatted up Andre (Sean Freeman) about her mom’s attitude since testing positive for the BRCA gene.

At the precinct, Smitty wanted Jacob’s help to get him some face time with red market criminal Lia Whitmore. He wanted to pump her for information on Lynette. He didn’t get much info from her. But he and Naomi compared notes about Hayley and Lynette. And June provided her own intel when she filled them in on her friend who was framed for Hayley’s mugging.

Vernon had a long chat with Bill. He offered his support whenever Bill needed it. The attorney appreciated it and recognized that they had come a long way. A woman named Ariyanna Wood (Aubri Ebony) interrupted them and introduced herself. Vernon will be working with her at the consulting firm that he has joined. Afterward, as Vernon left, he and Bill even shook hands. Bill stumbled again when he left, and Jacob spotted him.

Meanwhile, at Anita and Vernon’s house, Laura (Destiny Love) helped Anita write thank-you notes for all the gifts, thoughts, and prayers she received during her cancer battle. Later, she gave Laura a special gift for scheduling her mammogram. Anita said it saved her life.

Hayley broke the news to Randy that Bill was fine. While Hayley was off getting her beverages, Mona (Karan Kendrick) and Randy had a conversation. He figured she would want to know why he hadn’t been in church service lately. She said she didn’t track him like that. After Mona left, Hayley warned Randy that he needed to stay away from Mona. There was no need for him to grow a conscience anytime soon.

Elsewhere, Dani was at home when Andre arrived at their Fairmont Crest home. He gave Dani a gift that had been waiting for her at the door. The gift was a bottle of champagne sent to her from someone anonymous, a belated celebration of Dani and Andre’s wedding. But as soon as Andre saw the gift and the card, he was spooked, rattled, and calling the number of the person he thought it was. The number was no longer in service.

Friday, July 24 – Episode #332
Andre’s behavior was still odd as he stared at the champagne bottle. But he didn’t want to talk about it. Vanessa arrived at his and Dani’s place, and he took the opportunity to head to the club to work on his golf swing. Vanessa comforted Dani, especially about Naomi and the BRCA gene results and potentially her daughter getting a double mastectomy.

Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) met up with Eva at Orphey Gene’s, where they talked about the livestream. Eva ultimately agreed, and the two went live then and there. Eva talked about her transplant journey from the night of the tornado to post-surgery. And they kept Kat’s name out of it, although they referred to her as Renee. During the livestream, Vanessa and Dani spotted Andre in the background, so he lied about going to the club.

Back at the country club, Kat saw how close Chelsea and Eva looked and wasn’t happy, so she complained to Samantha (Najah Jackson). The teen just wanted them all to get along. When Chelsea showed up after the livestream was over, Kat was miffed. And she basically said that she had lost Eva to all the people in her life, and now it’s happening with Chelsea, too. Kat got up and left.

Elon told Jacob something he didn’t want to hear. First, he noted that Jacob had been spending a lot of time with Smitty, the journalist, implying that that didn’t need to continue. The police chief told his son that if Smitty, the civilian, wanted information in the future, he would have to go through the proper channels. Finally, he tried to get Jacob to look at his obsession and realize that he might never figure out the identity of The Impaler.

Finally, Joey’s sister Heather (Ashley Jones) stopped by Joey’s casino. She was in from London because she needed to tie up a loose end: Bradley “Smitty” Smith. He’s making waves with his articles, and she doesn’t like it. Joey warned her sister off making that kind of move. After all, he was married to a congressman. She didn’t care, but she did say that she would back off if Joey would help convince Smitty to keep The Impaler out of his mouth and his laptop.

While Joey was off doing business, Vanessa walked into the private poker room where Heather waited for her brother. When she asked Heather who she was, she didn’t let on. Instead, she said, “Well, you didn’t really think you were the only woman in Joey’s life, now did you?”
