Emmy-winning writer Jamey Giddens is making a big career move. On social media, the Daytime Confidential co-owner announced his imminent departure from Peacock’s Days of Our Lives. He’s headed far away from Horton Town Square for pastures closer to home. The Atlanta-based writer and producer will now make himself comfortable as part of the Fairmont Crest community. Yes, he’s venturing Beyond the Gates.

Goodbye Salem, Hello to the DMV!

Giddens spread the news of his brand-new gig on his social media accounts, including Instagram. The former entertainment journalist and podcaster wrote, “A bit of career news… After almost five amazing years in Salem, U.S.A, I recently relocated to a new address…@beyondthegatescbs. I am so grateful for my time at @dayspeacock (and the 4 WGA Awards and one Emmy!), and I am excited to join my friend @michelevaljean on her red-hot sudser! My #DAYS episodes will air into early 2026, so I’ll be showing both shows plenty of love on social media. Long live the American soap opera!”

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Giddens provided a little more intel for DAYS fans. That with the show’s unique filming schedule, “My #DAYS episodes will continue to air into early 2026, so I’ll be showing both shows plenty of love on social media until, well, forever! Grateful for my time in Salem, and so excited to join my friend @MicheleValJean at her red-hot new sudser! #BeyondTheGates”

Consider Giddens’ move to BTG a reunion with the show’s creator, showrunner, and executive producer, Michele Val Jean. Val Jean was on the writing staff of Giddens’ soapy Oprah Winfrey Network show Ambitions, which he co-created with Will Packer. The primetime drama ran for one season on OWN and starred Bold and the Beautiful alum Robin Givens, General Hospital’s Kendrick Cross, and Poppa’s House star Essence Atkins.

This also means the supervising producer of Tyler Perry’s Sistas will join his former boss on BTG. Ron Carlivati, DAYS head writer of seven years, is also on the BTG staff as a breakdown writer.

There was nothing but love for Giddens in his replies on social media. Current BTG cast member Cady McClain (Pamela) appeared as Jennifer Horton on DAYS during the Giddens era. She simply wrote, “YAY!👏👏👏” on his Instagram post. The Young and the Restless star Lauralee Bell celebrated his new job with emojis, “🎉🎉🎉.” And B&B’s Lawrence Saint-Victor wished the writer, “CONGRATULATIONS!!!”

Meanwhile, on X, DAYS’ Cherie Jemenez (Gabi) was excited for Giddens, saying, “Aw yay!!! Grateful to have had you be part of my journey thus far! Congratulations love.”

No word on when his material will start airing on Beyond the Gates. Soap Hub would like to congratulate Jamey Giddens on his new venture!
