Bill coldly blackmailed his way into a wedding with a full Fairmont Crest guest list. His chosen material involved Martin, whose bad dreams are back. Plus, as we discovered at the end of the Wednesday, February 26 episode of Beyond the Gates, cracks in the foundation of Nicole’s solid life started to develop.
On the Menu: Family Hostility
After a great confrontation with Bill (Timon Durrett), Dani’s (Karla Mosley) day didn’t get any better. In fact, it got worse. A whole lot worse when her parents summoned the family for a painful Dupree summit. Everybody’s attendance at Bill and Hayley’s (Marquita Goings) wedding was mandatory. They didn’t say why, but they didn’t give the family a choice, even Dani, who tried to schedule a trip to Paris to get her away from the madness. She’ll be there. They will be one big family wall of hostility, but they’ll be there.
Earlier, Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis) talked about how Martin (Brandon Claybon) must be protected at all costs, and because of it, Dani will pay the price again. What do they mean by “again?” What happened to Martin? How bad was it that he’s having dreams that he can’t remember? Did he subconsciously suppress the memories? Or was it something more nefarious?
Needless to say, this Bill and Hayley wedding is going to be DRAMATIC.

(Motor)Cycle of Obsession
For the last three days, we have been hearing about Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) perfect life with the perfect husband, kids, and job. She deserved all the blessings she was getting. Simultaneously, we have seen Dana/Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) oddly staring at Nicole’s husband, Ted (Maurice Johnson). And when Mona (Karan Kendrick) raved about Nicole and her blessings on Wednesday, Leslie had this odd look again.
At the end of the episode, someone on a motorcycle ran Nicole’s trusty, hard-working assistant, Laura Peterson (Destiny Love), off the road. Was it to her death? Or is she just hurt? The girl was about to travel to Maui with her boyfriend. She clearly was hoping to get married!
What was the purpose of getting Laura out of the way? Does Leslie want to take her place as Nicole’s employee? Is her beef with Nicole or Ted? Leslie is going to take this universe down a dark path, isn’t she? We are here for this and would like to see how cray cray (not a technical term) she will get.
