Huge soap news dropped earlier this week when it was announced that soap vets Jon Lindstrom and Cady McClain will appear as guest stars in CBS’ new daytime drama Beyond the Gates. Lindstrom has already made it known how grateful and excited he is to be a part of this groundbreaking game-changer of a project.

The General Hospital actor spread the good word about his new role on his Facebook, X (Formerly Twitter), and Instagram accounts. BlueSky, too. In his message, Lindstrom predicted that BTG “is going to blow the roof off daytime & I could not be more proud to make even a small contribution to this ground-breaker.”
He also urged his followers to watch the show’s introduction this week, which happens to be Beyond the Gates: Welcome to the Neighborhood. The five-part special airs all week at 2 ET / 1 PT on CBS and is an Entertainment Tonight production that ET host Kevin Frazier and former The Talk host Sheryl Underwood co-emcee.
Lindstrom was featured in the first episode of this welcome to BTG and Fairmont Crest, the gated community where much of the action will take place on the upcoming soap. The GH, Port Charles, and As the World Turns vet praised the show’s diversity. “You can say you want diversity, but do you really do diversity? I’m the minority on this show. And I like it. This gives me a perspective that I don’t think many people like me really get to have.”
As already reported, Lindstrom will play Joey Armstrong. According to the actor’s social media posts, “Call him an ‘entrepreneur’ …unless you owe him money. Joey owns a casino and, much like me, one thing he doesn’t like is debt. Difference being I won’t take your hand off if you owe me $10.”
