Beyond The Gates was the talk of the soap world in 2025. The CBS serial brought the drama and a renewed interest in the soap opera genre. BTG is definitely a contender for Outstanding Drama Series at this year’s Daytime Emmys, and many cast members could score big acting nods.

Key Takeaways

  • Karla Mosley showed how you never mess with a scorned woman.
  • Tamara Tunie wowed as the Dupree matriarch.
  • Ambyr Michelle’s character Eva had her world shaken up.
  • Daphnée Duplaix played the emotional beats of a woman whose life exploded…publicly.

Karla Mosley

Mosley is one of BTG’s leading ladies, who had fans hooked with the fiery, yet sensitive Dani Dupree. Dani’s life was turned upside down when her husband, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), dumped her for Hayley (Marquita Goings). Mosley showed that “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” to be true when it came to Dani.

The actress did a marvelous job showcasing Dani’s anger as she confronted her two-timing ex. Although Dani tried to put on a brave front, deep down she was a wife hurt by her husband’s betrayal. Mosley broke many hearts as Dani sought comfort in alcohol to cope with the end of her marriage.

Mosley was previously overlooked by the Daytime Emmys for her groundbreaking role as Maya on The Bold and the Beautiful. But playing Dani could land the actress her first nomination. After all, she was BTG’s Performer of the Year for 2025.

Tamara Tunie

As the World Turns alum Tamara Tunie made her return to soap operas as BTG’s Anita Dupree. As the Dupree matriarch, Anita showcases grace and strength as her family faces many challenges. But a visit from The Articulettes members Sharon (Bonita Brisker) and Tracy (Maria Howell) forced Anita to confront her past.

Tunie didn’t hold back in her emotions when Anita recalled The Articulettes’ rise to stardom and ultimate breakup. The star unleashed all of Anita’s pent-up anger and grief, knowing that her actions may have led to Barbara’s death. Tunie showed that even though Anita may have a good life as a Dupree, not everything is all rosy. If you recall, Anita ended 2025 with a devastating blow — she learned she had breast cancer.

Tunie’s never been nominated for a Daytime Emmy throughout her career. But this year, she could finally land a Lead Actress nomination for her work.

Ambyr Michelle

Ambyr Michelle’s character, Eva, was part of a major storyline in which she discovered that Ted (Keith D. Robinson) was her father. Eva went along with her mother, Leslie’s (Trisha Mann-Grant) plan to get revenge on Ted and Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) by infiltrating the Richardson family. But things hit a snag when Eva formed an emotional bond with Ted and Nicole.

Michelle gave a riveting performance as Eva struggled with her good and evil sides. Eva found herself having to choose between two families.

But when Eva’s paternity was finally revealed, she found herself without her mother and her father. Who could forget the sad moment when Eva returned home following the anniversary party, only to find her mother had locked her out.

Michelle has proven to be one of BTG’s breakout stars. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her name included in this year’s Emerging Talent category.

Daphnée Duplaix

Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party was supposed to be a perfect night for the couple. Instead, it turned into a disaster as Leslie crashed the ceremony to reveal Ted’s secrets.

The anniversary party revelation was one of BTG’s best moments of 2025, and Duplaix knocked it out of the park with an emotional performance. The actress went through a whirlwind of emotions from hurt to denial to anger as Nicole came to terms with her husband’s deception. In the aftermath of the revelation, Duplaix unveiled Nicole’s strength as she made the painful decision to divorce Ted.

Like her co-stars, Duplaix has a shot at earning her first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination. Nicole’s heartbreaking storyline could have Duplaix as a contender in the Supporting Actress category.
