One of my fondest memories from early childhood is walking the aisles of Blockbuster looking for Sailor Moon VHS tapes. I’ve loved TV for as long as I can remember and fell in love with soap operas in my tweens. Between flipping through channels and turning the pages of books, how writers craft stories has been a fascination of mine for some time, but the journey to becoming a writer in my own right wasn’t a clear-cut path.
After college, earning my B.A. in English with a Creative Writing minor, I found my way to libraries. Working in service of the public had its rewards as I spent my time developing book displays the community would enjoy and mentoring teenagers. But I still felt that same calling I’ve had since I was able to pick up a pencil, the desire to put my thoughts to the page. Taking a leap of faith, even after earning my Masters in Libraries & Information Science, I decided to finally answer the call. Now, I’m an entertainment writer with editing and interview experience under my belt. I continue to deliver information to the public through entertainment news, features, and interviews in a career that the five-year-old staring moon-eyed at the pink VHS box bearing the visage of her favorite hero could have never imagined.
In my spare time, when I’m not reading or taking videos of the curiosities and beauties in nature, I’m hanging out with my cats and doing puzzles (logic and jigsaw), likely with my favorite artists or new musical discoveries playing in the background.
