Sean Kanan, who currently plays Deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful, is heading over to The Young and the Restless for a crossover appearance later this month. Kanan’s Deacon was previously married to Genoa City’s Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and will reconnect with his ex. Kanan appeared on Y&R from 2009 to 2012.
Meanwhile, Mishael Morgan, who’s been off camera as Amanda Sinclair for over a month, took to social media to assure fans she’s still part of the soap’s cast and will be returning soon. While Amanda has been visiting her ailing mother, Morgan has been off on summer vacation with her family.
Y&R made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in.
From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Traci Abbott’s (Beth Maitland) heart to the complicated love story of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Y&R knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more.
