The Young and the Restless

Our Y&R Take: Oh My Gosh — Romance!

Sharon and Dylan on "The Young and the Restless"

On Friday’s “Young and the Restless” romance ruled. How incredibly refreshing it was to see a genuine episode of love in the afternoon. No guns, no shootouts, and no backstabbing – and it was glorious.

Physician Heal Thyself
Wanting to help, Dylan (Steve Burton) and Sharon (Sharon Case) counseled Abby about getting Stitch to open up and not keep secrets. Sharon looked uncomfortable to say the least at the irony. Once alone with Abby, Sharon confided that some things are better left unsaid. Later, the two couples were laughing and enjoying themselves. Darn you, Sharon, for being such a buzz kill and bringing up Sully.

Sexual Healing
At home, Dylan was sweet trying to get Sharon to let it go. And then she put some music on–and gasp! They danced! Loved this! It was a little sad to watch Sharon use a death grip embrace, her fear of losing him painfully obvious. If only she’d take the medicine he suggested – talk to the one you love.

Abby and Stitch listened. After some awkward moments, the two were able to reconnect. There was a brief moment of joy by the end, as these two seemed on the verge of really talking.

Married Love
Lane fans had to be ecstatic to see their favorites getting busy – I mean having a romantic getaway – even if Lily put the brakes on things. It’s not often we see a committed couple enjoying themselves with no undercurrents.

Neil (Kristoff St. John) told Jack (Peter Bergman) that he shouldn’t feel badly about not believing Hilary – well done! He was so right when he went through the laundry list of reasons she deserved doubt. Jack had enough on his mind – he didn’t need to worry about that! It was sad to see him go to Phyllis’s door and not knock. Instead, he texted her a sweet message.

It was wonderful to see Michael E. Knight (Neville) get some meaty stuff to play. We still can’t believe Y&R isn’t keeping him around. He works well with Eileen Davidson’s Ashley. Now that’s a couple that could have been fun to see get romantic. Alas…
