On The Young and the Restless, Sharon is newly married and still can’t stay away from Adam. Off-screen, her portrayer, Sharon Case, is busy celebrating a major milestone.
Happy Birthday, Sharon Case
That’s because she was born on February 9, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan, which means that this talented actress turned 50 years old yesterday! Though she always wanted to be an actress, Case launched a career as a model, feeling that it would serve as a perfect segue into the performing arts world.
When she was 17, Case caught the eye of a scout who offered her a modeling assignment in Japan. She jumped at the opportunity and relocated for five months. Later, she returned to Los Angeles and begin working in local theater productions like Grease, The Wizard, and The Nutcracker.
In November of 1989, Case was cast as Dawn Winthrop on ABC’s General Hospital where she remained for one year. Subsequently, she appeared on episodes of Doogie Howser, M.D., Diplomatic Immunity, Beverly Hills 90210, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose, and Cheers.
From November 1992 to 1993, Case played Debbie Simon on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns and a year later, after filming an episode of Silk Stalkings, she landed a starring role in the syndicated serial Valley of the Dolls.
Following that show’s conclusion, Case was hired to appear on CBS’ The Young and the Restless as Sharon Collins, replacing incumbent Heidi Mark. Case’s debut aired on September 7, 1994, and she has remained in the part ever since.
Case’s other credits include the critically acclaimed short film Repressions, the web series Poor Paul, and the independent film Carpool Guy. Outside of her acting, Case is known for her jewelry line, Pomp.
