Do Devon Hamilton and Abby have what it takes?
What exactly is the current state of Devon Hamilton and Abby Newman-Abbott’s relationship? Y&R spoilers certainly aren’t offering any hints. They’re sleeping together. But are they living together? They’re raising Dominic together.
But are they planning a life together? Is the reason Devon (Bryton James) and Abby haven’t talked about the future because they realize they don’t really have one?
Abby (Melissa Ordway) was the one who pointed out that she and Devon never work romantically, 28% of you remind. They’ve tried it before, and it’s never gone well. These two are best friends. They decided to be co-parents. (Well, actually, they didn’t initially decide that. But Christine [Lauralee Blair] is a terrible lawyer, so that’s where they are now.) But it should never be more than that.
Then again, an almost equal 29% of the audience thinks this is a couple that might have a future, as long as Abby and Devon are willing to work for it. It’s not just about them now, after all. There is also little Dominic to consider. How many parents and homes is the poor tot supposed to shuttle through?
But that’s the problem, 43% of voters sigh. Neither Abby nor Devon has ever been able to work for anything. They are both way, way too spoiled to put up with anything but getting their own way. How many times did Devon dump Hilary (Mishael Morgan) when she didn’t live up to his standards?
How quickly did he let Amanda (also Mishael Morgan) go? And Abby didn’t exactly fight for her marriage, did she? Not the one to Chance (Conner Floyd) and not the one to Stitch. This is a relationship that can never work because the two people in it are too lazy to do anything about it.
