It’s a day of Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) funeral and everyone who loved him flocks to town, including his brother Malcolm (Shemar Moore). The long-awaited return takes some GC residents by surprise.
So many have not heard from him in a so long and coming home for this tragedy makes it even more heartbreaking.
The service is one of tears and sorrow as the reverend honors Neil’s life. He was a great man who meant so much to so many, especially his loving family. He asks for the attendees to come up and say a few words, starting with Lily.
However, she just can’t bring herself to do it just yet, so it’s Malcolm who takes the lead for the Winters family. Spoilers reveal he him standing Lily’s place and saying the first of the final goodbyes to the man they loved with all their hearts.
Expect a tear-jerking speech as Malcolm shares some of his greatest moments and his deepest regrets about his brother.
He should have been here more, called more, visited more, reached out more. Their relationship had its up and downs but never once did he ever stop loving his brother.

Malcolm recalls Neil’s corny jokes, his witty sense of humor, and his ability to laugh no matter how hard things ever got. He lit up every room and was always the strongest presence in the crowd. He loved hard and never gave up on any of his friends or family.
Through tears, Malcolm thanked Neil for making him into the man he is today and prayed he knew how much he did for him when he first arrived on the GC scene.
There’s no bond like the one between brothers and Neil was just about the best brother anyone could have.
