Chris McKenna has played two memorable daytime roles — the short-term role of Det. Mark Harding on The Young and the Restless, and, of course, Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live. Now, the actor has shared with his fans some heartbreaking news about his family.
On Sunday, December 1, McKenna tweeted that he was very grateful for the safety features in the Chrysler Pacifica as he credits them for saving the life of his family when they were involved in a head-on automobile collision on Saturday, two days after Thanksgiving. McKenna was not in the car when it collided.
The fan-favorite gave a more detailed update later in the day. “For those concerned, my brother and sister-in-law are in pain but gonna be ok, the baby is fine,” McKenna tweeted, adding, “my mom suffered many injuries that will require multiple surgeries and a long rehab. I’ll be going home to take care of her. Please keep her in your thoughts.”
McKenna’s Instagram post, which contains additional details on the horrific ordeal, can be seen below. Choosing to see the positive in this, he wrote, “Coulda been worse.” Soap Hub joins the actor’s friends, fans, and the daytime community in wishing a complete recovery for the actor’s mother and sends support to him at this difficult time.
