Devon Hamilton and Phyllis Summers
The Young and the Restless recaps for March 27 – March 31, 2023, featured a whole host of upsets. Read on to get the details.
Jeremy (James Hyde) snuck into the thick of the gala and relieved Jack (Peter Bergman) of Diane’s (Susan Walters) engagement ring and Kyle (Michael Mealor) of his cell phone. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) cornered Diane and spun a story about Kyle lying ill upstairs in a suite she’d booked. Unable to reach Kyle by phone, Diane took the bait.
Victor (Eric Braeden) took snapping and snipping Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Adam (Mark Grossman) to task…Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) welcomed a preening Sharon (Sharon Case) into the grandma’s club…Devon (Bryton James) agreed to drop his lawsuit and he and Lily (Christel Khalil) were reconciled.
Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) made merry with Christine (Lauralee Bell). Christine sidestepped inquiries about Paul (Doug Davidson) and mentioned that she’s considering a term as interim District Attorney.
Leanna Love (Barbara Crampton) made the rounds, much to the consternation of her fellow partygoers…Nate’s (Sean Dominic) obvious interest in the goings on between the Newmans — and with Victoria in particular — rankled Elena (Brytni Sarpy)…Billy (Jason Thompson) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) joined the festivities. Jill spoke with the pair, waxed lyrical about Billy’s self-improvement, and made a point of referring to the budding couple as friends.
Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) caught up with Christine and Traci (Beth Maitland) and offered Abby (Melissa Ordway) a piece of her mind. Afterward, Jill, Esther, and Christine good-naturedly reminded Nina of her own less-than-savory past…Jill was heartened to see Devon and Lily’s rapprochement with her own two eyes.
Sharon and Adam reflected on their oft-turbulent relationship…Adam rued his and Sally’s (Courtney Hope) doomed romance…Victor, Nikki, and Esther reminisced about Katherine…Leanna Love’s prying induced Chelsea’s flight instincts. She and Billy decamped to Crimson Lights where they remained for the evening.
Phyllis goaded Diane into physically assaulting her. Jack, Kyle, and Summer (Allison Lanier) enter the suite just in time to hear Diane, her hands wrapped around Phyllis’s throat, declare “I should do the world a favor and strangle you to death.”
Billy and Chelsea shared a kiss…Diane is pulled off of Phyllis and manages to convince the onlookers that she’d been provoked into lashing out…Gina (Patty Weaver) noted Lily and Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) overt chemistry…Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) share a catty cross. Devon and Abby find their own exit impeded by Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan)
Adam kept an eye on Sally from afar…Jack announced his and Diane’s engagement. Nikki was unamused at having her efforts upstaged. Ashley and Tucker (Trevor St. John) leave the ball…Phyllis darkened the proceedings.
Phyllis caused a scene that collapsed in a heap. Elena and Nate mobilized and tended to her until the EMTs arrived…Amanda and Devon made tentative peace…Diane noticed Phyllis clutching her engagement ring in her hand and pried it out in view of one of the EMTs…Jeremy stuns the crowd with his claim to be Phyllis’s husband…Tucker proposes to an incredulous Ashely.
Jeremy produces his and Phyllis’s marriage certificate and publicly accuses Diane of contributing to his wife’s collapse. Diane strenuously denies the allegations but is forced to confess to a newly arrived Chance that she and Phyllis did indeed tussle earlier in the evening and that she had threatened Phyllis’s well-being.
The party’s attendees — save for a headline-hunting Leanna Love — are chagrined when news reaches them that the ambulance transporting Phyllis has failed to arrive at Memorial Hospital. Later, Chance reveals that an ambulance was involved in an accident with another vehicle, stresses that he’s unaware of the ambulance’s occupant, and stresses that everyone should brace for the worst.
Ashley dismissed Tucker’s marriage proposal out of hand. Tucker counters that he won’t be deterred and even suggests that they enter the marriage piecemeal. They’ll announce their engagement — and rather steal Jack and Diane’s thunder — eventually tie the knot, but they’ll be no further expectations. Ashley blanches — but she does send Tucker on his way with a kiss or three.
Devon fills Abby in on his tête-à-tête with Amanda and the scene Phyllis created and her subsequent collapse. Devon confides that Abby was the impetus for his dropping the lawsuit against Chancellor-Winters and asks her to consider moving herself and Don into his penthouse…Audra cryptically assures Tucker that she has a plan to achieve her goals then conscripts him into helping her track down J.T. Hellstrom.
