Ashley Abbott’s Young and the Restless Choice: What Is She Thinking?

It seems that the women, including Ashley Abbott, on The Young and the Restless are taking turns losing their minds. Phyllis went first, then Nikki, and now Ashley can’t think of anything other than her brother’s intended, Diane Jenkins.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) is willing to do anything — hurt her brother, marry a man who cheated on her, put her beloved father’s company at risk — if it will prove that she’s right about Diane (Susan Walters) being evil. Is the most highly educated Abbott making sensible life choices?

Of course, 7% insist. Ashley is leading with love. You can never go wrong doing that. She’s doing this because she loves Jack (Peter Bergman), because she loves Jabot, and because she’s willing to pretend to love Tucker (Trevor St. John). No way that can go wrong.

Y&R: Plan A

Ashley has a plan, 30% are confident. Just because we don’t understand it, doesn’t mean it’s not a good one. Ashley wants to distract Jack with Tucker, and she wants to trick Diane into revealing her true colors, and she wants the chance to say, “I told you so,” when the plan is all done with. Why should we let not understanding it convince us that it isn’t any good? Or that it doesn’t exist at all?

Ashley Abbott: Going Through Life With Blinders On

Ashley can’t see the forest for the trees. Ashley is cutting off her nose to spite her face. Ashley is taking part in all the clichés because Ashley has lost touch with reality, 63% sigh. We get it, she doesn’t like Diane. But, for the life of us, we can’t figure out why it should be taking over her life.

Sure Diane and Tucker have a past. So do Tucker and Harmony. They even have a child together. And yet Ashley managed to be perfectly polite to her. Let it go, Ashley. This isn’t good for you, it’s not good for your family, it’s not good for Tucker, and it certainly isn’t good for us.
