Last week The Young and the Restless sent out a casting call for a teenage girl named Shawn, sparking fan debates as to who she is and what her connection to Genoa City could be.
The biggest fan-based rumor is that Shawn could be the child of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Dr. Anderson (Elizabeth Bogush). If Dr. Anderson is, in fact, Sandra Allen (which seems to be the case) then it’s entirely possible the two shared at least one night together. Remember, Sandra is the girl he left in the dust when he first met Sharon. That said, they were only teens when they knew each other, which would make any child they had older than Noah.
Could Shawn perhaps be connected to Cane? Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) have just began rebuilding their marriage, so throwing a long lost child into the mix certainly would certainly stir things up.
Shawn is said to be from an “all American working class background” so maybe she’s a college friend of Fenmore’s. While there’s been no news about Fen (Max Ehrich) returning to town, the actor is still on recurring status.

Most of Dylan’s past also remains a mystery. Aside from his time with Avery, no one knows much about him. Could Shawn be the child Dylan (Steve Burton) has wanted his entire adult life. Losing Sully is going to be rough, so maybe Y&R is throwing him a lifeline by sending in a daughter.
It looks like the show is going to keep fans guessing—at least for now.
