It’s been a while since Lola Rosales left Genoa City for Miami to start a restaurant there, and since Rey Rosales died, we don’t expect to see her around any time soon on The Young and the Restless. Performer Sasha Calle has a lot to celebrate, though.
That’s because she was born on August 7, 1995, in Boston, Massachusetts, which means that this fan favorite is turning 28 years old today. Upon graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (with a BFA in Performing Arts), Calle began earnestly pursuing her acting dreams.
Her earliest credits include the short films 18 Minutes, The White Shoes, Deep Cuts Final Stop, and Young Blood, as well as the web series Socially Awkward. In September 2018, Calle joined the cast of Y&R.
Her appearance helped to shore up the Rosales clan, which up to that point, had consisted of the older — though not exactly wiser — Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and the younger, hot-headed Arturo (Jason Canela). Calle’s performance was welcomed by many, especially once she was paired opposite Michael Mealor’s Kyle Abbott.
Calle snagged a coveted Daytime Emmy Award nomination for her efforts on the venerable CBS drama. In 2021, she snagged an even more coveted prize — the role of Supergirl in the feature film The Flash.
Outside of her acting, Calle is a talented instrumentalist (particularly where the guitar and piano are concerned), singer, and songwriter. Her first single, “Ex-Factor,” was released in February 2020.
Soap Hub would like to wish Sasha Calle a very happy birthday, and you can, too, by clicking on the Twitter link below.
