Steve Burton may be gone from The Young and the Restless (YR), but Dylan’s not forgotten. There are onscreen references made all the time of Sharon’s ex.
Fans know that Dylan’s not going back anytime soon, certainly not as played by his originator, now that it’s been announced that the Burton is returning to General Hospital.
But does that mean Burton no longer talks to his Y&R pals? Not at all!
Genoa City Buddies
A fan recently asked Burton via Twitter if he was in touch with his former castmates from the top-rated CBS soap.
“I talk to peeps,” Burton tweeted back. “Especially @DougDavidsonYR.”
It’s no secret that the two award-winning stars are good pals. Burton invited his TV dad to be his “plus one” at this year’s Daytime Emmys. When the nominations were announced back in March, Doug Davidson tweeted out congratulations to his onscreen offspring.
“My son!!!! Congratulations!!! @1SteveBurton Well deserved!!”

Stronger Together
Knowing that the two actors share a nice relationship, just as their on-camera personas do, makes the viewing experience greater for their fans.
One “tweeter” wrote to the actors: “have to say that I so miss the 2 of you & your chemistry on screen. Happy for you Steve but I miss Dylan!”
Another social media follower wrote: “The Daytime Emmy’s should have a “Outstanding Father/Son” category. You & @1SteveBurton would win that one for sure!”
While it’s not likely we’ll see an on-air reunion between these two anytime soon, perhaps the Daytime Emmy folks could pair the popular blue-eyed stars as presenters at next year’s awards show? That’d be the next best thing.
