For the last several months on The Young and the Restless, it’s been all about poor Victoria Newman Locke. She is either a fool for buying what new husband Ashland Locke is selling or the victim of her daddy and big brothers’ machinations.
Either way, she can’t possibly know her own mind, make her own choices, or set her own future. Oh, woe is her. But what if that’s not what’s going on here? What if Victoria (Amelia Heinle) has been pulling the strings all along?
Victoria married Ashland (Robert Newman) despite all the secrets Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) dug up about him. They thought she was crazy…crazy like a fox?
Then, when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) dug up even more dirt on Ashland, Victoria acted like she believed them. But said she was going back to Ashland anyway. She then told Ashland that they’d be fine…as long as he did exactly what she said.
Victoria was furious when Victor handed Newman Enterprises over to Adam. She blackmailed Daddy into making her CEO instead. But Victoria knows Victor. He could pull the rug out from under her at any moment. That’s how Victor rolls.
So what if she decided to neutralize that threat by diluting Newman Enterprises. Turning it into Newman Locke, so Victor is no longer the majority stockholder, and not the sole person capable of removing her from her position.
What if Victoria knew exactly what she was doing when she made Ashland co-CEO? Because if Ashland controls half of Newman-Locke…and Victoria controls Ashland (thanks to the dirt she has on him), there is no way Victor can ever take the company away from her again. It’s Victoria for the win! Oh, woe poor everybody who underestimated her!
